Gasdermin D mediates doxorubicin- induced cardiomyocyte pyroptosis and cardiotoxicity via directly binding to doxorubicin and changes in mitochondrial damage
Transl Res. 2022 May 8:S1931-5244(22)00100-1. doi: 10.1016/j.trsl.2022.05.001. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTDoxorubicin (Dox), as a widely used anthracycline antitumor drug, can cause severe cardiotoxicity. Cardiomyocyte death and inflammation are involved in the pathophysiology of Dox-induced cardiotoxicity (DIC). Gasdermin D (GSDMD) is known as a key executioner of pyroptosis, which is a pro-inflammatory programmed cell death. We aimed to investigate the impact of GSDMD on DIC and systematically reveal its underlying mechanisms. Our findings indicated that Dox induced cardiomyocyte pyroptosis in a GSDMD-dependent manner...

SIRT2 Affects Cell Proliferation and Apoptosis by Suppressing the Level of Autophagy in Renal Podocytes
CONCLUSION: SIRT2 expression was upregulated in hyperglycaemic murine kidney foot cells, and knocking down the expression level of SIRT2 affected the biological function of the cells. We found that SIRT2 may modulate cell proliferation and apoptosis by regulating cell autophagy.PMID:35493297 | PMC:PMC9054447 | DOI:10.1155/2022/4586198

Involvement of RUVBL1 in WNT/ < em > β < /em > -Catenin Signaling in Oral Squamous Cell Carcinoma
Dis Markers. 2022 Apr 22;2022:3398492. doi: 10.1155/2022/3398492. eCollection 2022.ABSTRACTOral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) is the most common malignant tumor of head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC), but the causes and molecular mechanisms remain unclear. The wingless-integrated/β-catenin (WNT/β-catenin) signaling pathway plays a vital role in cancer cell proliferation, differentiation, and metastasis, including OSCC. To screen potential β-catenin-associated genes involved in OSCC, the intersection of these genes in the STRING and IMEx databases was assessed using differential expression genes (DEG) from pub...

Decreased Expression of HN1 Sensitizes Prostate Cancer Cells to Apoptosis Induced by Docetaxel and 2-Methoxyestradiol
CONCLUSION: HN1 is an anti-apoptotic molecule and inhibits Docetaxel and 2-Methoxyestradiol induced apoptosis by targeting Cyclin B1.PMID:35414498
