AQP2 is regulated by estradiol in human endometrium and is associated with spheroid attachment in  vitro.
AQP2 is regulated by estradiol in human endometrium and is associated with spheroid attachment in vitro. Mol Med Rep. 2019 Jun 05;: Authors: He R, Han W, Hu Y, Chen X, Hu X, Zhu Y Abstract 17β‑estradiol (E2) and aquaporin 2 (AQP2) are associated with endometrial receptivity, and E2 directly regulates AQP2 expression in endometrial cancer cells. The present study aimed to investigate the role of AQP2 in embryo implantation. Normal endometrial samples were collected at the Women's Hospital (Hangzhou, China) from women seeking in vitro fertilization and embryo transfer; women with endometrial abnorma...

FKN Facilitates HK-2 Cell EMT and Tubulointerstitial Lesions via the Wnt/ β-Catenin Pathway in a Murine Model of Lupus Nephritis
In this study, we therefore examined whether FKN could stimulate the process of EMT, NF-kB, TGFβ, CCL22, F4/80, inflammation, and tubulointerstitial fibrosis in a murine model of LN. We also determined whether FKN was involved in the EMT process of Wnt/β-catenin-expressing HK-2 cells. Mechanistically, we ascertained, for the first time, whether FKN up-regulated EMT-related gene signatures (e.g., vimentin, α-SMA), and hence, renal tubulointerstitial fibrogenesis, and the role of the Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway in this process. Materials and Methods Cell Culture, Stable Infection, and Gr...

Expression of GRIM-19 in unexplained recurrent spontaneous abortion and possible pathogenesis
AbstractSTUDY QUESTIONIs aberrant expression of gene associated with retinoid-interferon-induced mortality-19 (GRIM-19) associated with unexplained recurrent spontaneous abortion (URSA)?SUMMARY ANSWERGRIM-19 deficiency may regulate regulatory T cell/T helper 17 cell (Treg/Th17) balance partly through reactive oxygen species (ROS) –mammalian target of rapamycin (mTOR) signaling axis in URSA.WHAT IS KNOWN ALREADYImmunological disorders may cause impaired maternal immune tolerance to the fetus and result in fetal rejection. The differentiation of Treg and Th17 cells is controlled by phosphoinositide 3-kinase (PI3K)/Akt/mTOR...

Effects of NOB1 on the pathogenesis of osteosarcoma and its expression on the chemosensitivity to cisplatin.
Authors: Luo L, Wang Y, Yin Y, Ge J, Lu X Abstract The effects of NIN1/RPN12 binding protein 1 homolog (NOB1) on the pathogenesis of osteosarcoma and its expression on the chemosensitivity to cisplatin were investigated. Seventy-four patients with osteosarcoma who received surgical resection in The Affiliated Hospital of Southwest Medical University (Sichuan, China) from September 2013 to September 2016 were enrolled in this study. The expression of NOB1 in cancer and cancer-adjacent tissues of patients was detected by reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction, and the relationship between NOB1 expression and...

MicroRNA-185 suppresses pancreatic cell proliferation by targeting transcriptional coactivator with PDZ-binding motif in pancreatic cancer.
Authors: Xia D, Li X, Niu Q, Liu X, Xu W, Ma C, Gu H, Liu Z, Shi L, Tian X, Chen X, Zhang Y Abstract The aim of the present study was to compare the expression of transcriptional coactivator with the PDZ-binding motif (TAZ) in pancreatic cancer (PC) patients, and to investigate the regulation mechanisms of TAZ in the proliferation of PC. PC tissues and matched peritumoral tissues, pancreatic juice and serum were collected from PC patients who underwent pancreatectomy between June 2012 and December 2015 at the Affiliated Hospital of Qingdao University (Qingdao, China). Pancreatic juice and serum were collected from ...
