β-Sitosterol blocks the LEF-1-mediated Wnt/β-catenin pathway to inhibit proliferation of human colon cancer cells
CONCLUSION: According to our results, LEF-1 down-regulation can effectively block Wnt/β-catenin pathway, inhibit CC cell growth and migration. Collectively, β-sitosterol can be used to treat CC, which can provide anti-tumor activity by targeting LEF-1.PMID:36603684 | DOI:10.1016/j.cellsig.2022.110585

LncRNA CCAT1 sponges miR-218-5p to promote EMT, cellular migration and invasion of retinoblastoma by targeting MTF2
In conclusion, here we identified the lncRNA CCAT1/miR-218-5p/MTF2 axis in RB cell lines. Our investigations on the function of lncRNA CCAT1 hint a novel biomarker and therapeutic option to facilitate RB diagnosis and treatment.PMID:34265414 | DOI:10.1016/j.cellsig.2021.110088

Responses of porcupine and Wntless proteins to oxidative, hypoxic and endoplasmic reticulum stresses
Cell Signal. 2021 May 17:110047. doi: 10.1016/j.cellsig.2021.110047. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTThe WNT (Wingless and Int-1) proteins play a role in stem cell development and cell differentiation. Mutations in the WNT proteins lead to the development of various tumours, including gastric tumours. Porcupine (PORCN) is a palmitoyltransferase and Wntless (WLS) is a chaperone protein that modify and fold the WNT proteins respectively and are involved in their proper secretion and binding to the frizzled (FZD) receptor and the lipoprotein receptor-related protein 5 or 6 (LRP5/6). We investigated how modifications of PORCN an...

Wnt/β-catenin Signaling Induces the Transcription of Cystathionine-γ-lyase, a Stimulator of Tumor in Colon Cancer.
In conclusion, we have demonstrated that Wnt pathway regulates CSE gene expression on transcriptional level and CSE/H2S plays important roles in colon cancer. PMID: 25193114 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

Ezrin expression and cell survival regulation in colorectal cancer.
We report for the first time that p-ezrin T567 is downstream of the IGF1R signaling and demonstrate that ezrin regulates cell survival through survivin/XIAP modulation. PMID: 24462708 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]
