Systematic literature review of primary and secondary cervical cancer prevention programs in South America
CONCLUSIONS: No documents were found about a national HPV vaccination program in French Guiana and Venezuela, and no official guidelines for cervical cancer screening were found for Suriname and Venezuela; thus, it will be difficult to eliminate this public health problem in these countries. Countries in South America must update their guidelines for HPV vaccination and cervical cancer screening as new evidence emerges. Official websites with information about HPV vaccination and cervical cancer screening are important sources that can be accessed by health professionals and the population.PMID:37405122 | PMC:PMC10317248 |...

Gastrointestinal tract and viral pathogens
World J Virol. 2023 Jun 25;12(3):136-150. doi: 10.5501/wjv.v12.i3.136.ABSTRACTViral gastroenteritis is the most common viral illness that affects the gastrointestinal (GI) tract, causing inflammation and irritation of the lining of the stomach and intestines. A time-resolved fluorescence immunoassay for rapid and precise automatic quality control of human papillomavirus type 68 VLPs in human papillomavirus vaccine
J Immunol Methods. 2023 Jun 27:113518. doi: 10.1016/j.jim.2023.113518. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTThe effectiveness and necessity of human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination to prevent HPV infection and cervical cancer are increasingly recognized by people. The 15-valent HPV vaccine, which protects against almost high-risk types of HPV viruses identified by WHO, has attracted much attention. However, as the valence of vaccines increases, quality control in the HPV vaccine production process is facing more challenges. The precise quality control of the HPV type 68 virus-like particles (VLPs), one of the unique components o...

Hum Vaccin Immunother. 2023 Aug 1;19(2):2224089. doi: 10.1080/21645515.2023.2224089.ABSTRACTRates of Human papilloma virus (HPV) vaccination among pediatric survivors of cancer and patients with sickle cell disease are lower than the national average. While recent attention has focused on patient HPV vaccine hesitancy and refusal, less is known about provider-level and system-level barriers to vaccinations in pediatric hematology/oncology (PHO) populations. Applying thematic analysis to qualitative interviews with 20 pediatric hematology/oncology physicians and nurse practitioners, we examine their views regarding HPV vacc...
