Box Behnken design of siRNA-loaded liposomes for the treatment of a murine model of ocular keratitis caused by Acanthamoeba
In this study, PEGylated cationic liposomes were proposed and optimized using Box-Behnken design. The influence of DOTAP:DOPE ratio, DSPE-PEG concentration, and siRNA/DOTAP charge ratio were evaluated over both biological response and physicochemical properties of liposomes. The ratio of DOTAP:DOPE had an effect in the trophozoite activity whereas the charge ratio influenced both size and protease activity. The predicted values were very close to the observed values, yielding a formulation with good activity and toxicity profile, which was used in the following experiments. A murine model of ocular keratitis was treated wi...

Strategies to optimize MEDLINE and EMBASE search strategies for anesthesiology systematic reviews. An experimental study.
CONCLUSIONS: In view of these results, we recommend that the search terms used should include both preferred and non-preferred terms (i.e. variant spellings and direct/indirect order of the same term) and associated MeSH and EMTREE terms, in order to develop highly-sensitive search strategies for systematic reviews. Factors associated with preventive health services search among Brazilian adults: National Health Survey, 2013
The objective of this article is to examine factors associated with preventive health services search among Brazilian adults. Sample included adults participants from the National Health Survey (2013), that had reported any health service search in prior 15 days, categorized into “ treatment/diagnosis ” or “ preventive ” service. Exploratory variables included sex, age, race, marital status, education, household situation, private health plan enrolment and time of FHS enrolment. Associations were verified by prevalence ratios (PR), estimated using robust Poisson regression, considering complexity of sampling parame...

IJERPH, Vol. 20, Pages 3395: Trends in Online Search Activity and the Correlation with Daily New Cases of Monkeypox among 102 Countries or Territories
Min Liu Jue Liu Research assessing the trend in online search activity on monkeypox (mpox) and the correlation with the mpox epidemic at the global and national level is scarce. The trend of online search activity and the time-lag correlations between it and daily new mpox cases were estimated by using segmented interrupted time-series analysis and Spearman correlation coefficient (rs), respectively. We found that after the declaration of a Public Health Emergency of International Concern (PHEIC), the proportion of countries or territories with increasing changes in online search activity was lowest in Africa (8.16%,...

Search hours for food attractant by Anastrepha fraterculus and Ceratitis capitata (Diptera: Tephritidae) adults in guava orchards
This study was to determine the period and search time by attractive food for A. fraterculus and C. capitata adults by using three commercial food attractants: BioAnastrepha™ 5%; Isca Samaritá Tradicional™ 5% and Ceratrap™ 1.5%. The largest catches of A. fraterculus and C. capitata adults in McPhail traps occurred during the day between 6:30 am and 6:30 pm for both species. The BioAnastrepha™ food attractant provided the largest catches compared to Isca Samaritá Tradicional™ and Ceratrap™. In addition, there was a higher prevalence of capturing females than males, for both flies' species. The period of larges...
