In-hospital grouping rehabilitation of hybrid closed-wedge high tibial osteotomy results in shorter hospital stays and better clinical outcomes
Conclusion] Grouping exercise therapy, in addition to enhanced recovery after surgery protocol, results in shorter hospital stays, no difference in postoperative complications, and good clinical outcomes.PMID:37529062 | PMC:PMC10390034 | DOI:10.1589/jpts.35.575

Comparison of conventional and cooled radiofrequency treatment of the genicular nerves versus sham procedure for patients with chronic knee pain: protocol for a multicentre, double-blind, randomised controlled trial (COGENIUS)
This study investigates the effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of conventional and cooled RF in patients suffering from chronic, therapy resistant, moderate to severe knee pain due to OA and PPSP. Methods and analysis The COGENIUS trial is a double-blinded, randomised controlled trial with 2-year follow-up. Patients and outcome assessors are blinded. Patients will be recruited and treated in Belgium and the Netherlands. All PPSP after a total knee prothesis and OA patients (grades 2–4) will undergo a run-in period of 1–3 months where conservative treatment will be optimised. After the run-in period, 200 pati...

An unusual cause of chronic neuropathic pain: report of a case of multiple intradural spinal arachnoid cysts and review of the literature
AbstractSpinal arachnoid cysts (SACs) arise either intra- or extradurally and are usually solitary, while cases of multiple SACs have been scarcely reported in the literature. Herein, we report on a rare case of multiple and recurring intradural spinal arachnoid cysts (SACs) causing severe spinal cord compression and neuropathic radicular pain, in a 35-year-old female with a 10-year follow-up. Two separate attempts at surgery were performed but only provided temporary relief since the cysts recurred and new ones formed along the entirety of the spinal cord. Finally, a conservative approach with physiotherapy and a combinat...

Remission of cervicogenic dysphagia associated with biomechanical dysfunction following chiropractic therapy
This study highlights the potential mechanism of cervicogenic dysphagia and the effect of chiropractic treatment in managing it. Applying chiropractic treatment, including spinal manipulative therapy, instrument-assisted soft tissue manipulation, and mechanical traction, might bring a positive outcome for dysphagia patients with careful consideration.PMID:37520480 | PMC:PMC10375352 | DOI:10.25122/jml-2023-0009
