Multiple Hydatid Cysts in Rare Locations Treated with Albendazole: A Case Report
We report the case of a 33-year-old man admitted because of chest pain. Echocardiography had shown suspected round cyst in the myocardium. More diagnostic managements had demonstrated cystic lesion in the liver, spleen and lungs. There were also multiple cystic lesions in both lungs. He refused surgery and was taken to medical therapy. Myocardial involvement by hydatid cysts occurs very rarely. The main treatment approach for cardiac hydatid disease in patients should be surgery. Giant left ventricle cardiac hydatid cyst : report of a challenging case
We present the case of a patient with a history of pulmonary hydatid cysts who presented with atypical chest pain with a huge hydatid cyst of the anterior and lateral wall of the left ventricle of 80/66 mm in diameter responsible of a thinning of the wall of the left ventricle and close relationship with the anterior descending artery and the circumflex artery. Three cases of ovarian actinomycosis with literature review
CONCLUSIONS: Ovarian actinomycosis is closely related to long-term IUD implantation. The clinical manifestations and imaging features of this disease are not specific; therefore, preoperative diagnosis is difficult. The disease is easily misdiagnosed as ovarian cancer. Sulfur granules are signs of ovarian actinomycosis, and thus, those with this manifestation should be carefully screened by pathologic examination. Surgery combined with antibiotic treatment is effective for ovarian actinomycosis, resulting in a good prognosis.PMID:37559683 | PMC:PMC10408434
