Open-label uncontrolled pilot study to evaluate complementary therapy with Ruta graveolens 9c in patients with advanced cancer.
CONCLUSION: Some patients treated with Ruta graveolens 9c had a transitory improvement in QoL, but the effectiveness of this treatment remains to be confirmed in further studies. PMID: 25439039 [PubMed - in process]

DNA fragmentation and cell cycle arrest: a hallmark of apoptosis induced by Ruta graveolens in human colon cancer cells.
Abstract In the present study, we investigated the anti-cancer effect of various potencies of Ruta graveolens (Ruta) on COLO-205 cell line, as evidenced by cytotoxicity, migration, clonogenecity, morphological and biochemical changes and modification in the levels of genes associated with apoptosis and cell cycle. On treatment of COLO-205 cells maximal effects were seen with mother tincture (MT) and 30C potencies, wherein decrease in cell viability along with reduced clonogenecity and migration capabilities were noted. In addition morphological and biochemical alterations such as nuclear changes (fragmented nuclei...

Inhalation therapy with M1 inhibits experimental melanoma development and metastases in mice.
CONCLUSION: Altogether these data suggest M1 is an efficient candidate for melanoma therapy to be considered for future clinic studies as this study is the first supporting the idea that melanoma patients may benefit with the treatment. The treatment with M1 provides advantages considering the highly-diluted properties and a cost effective alternative to costly chemotherapeutic approaches with, if any, lower toxicity. Evaluating the anticancer activity and nanoparticulate nature of homeopathic preparations of Terminalia chebula.
CONCLUSION: The current study reports the anticancer activity of homeopathic preparations of TC against breast cancer and reveals their nanoparticulate nature. These preliminary results warrant further mechanistic studies at both in vitro and in vivo levels to evaluate the potential of TC as nanomedicine in breast cancer. Motivations of patients seeking supportive care for cancer from physicians  prescribing homeopathic or conventional medicines: results of an observational cross-sectional study.
CONCLUSIONS: Patients consulting a GP-Ho or GP-CM had different motivations for seeking supportive care. There was a significantly greater prescription of psychotropic drugs by GP-CM. PMID: 27914568 [PubMed - in process]

Therapeutic potential of HIV nosode 30c as evaluated in A549 lung cancer cells.
CONCLUSION: HIV 30c nosode has therapeutic potential for inducing cytotoxic effects on A549 cells as manifested by changes in nuclear condensation, DNA fragmentation, ROS generation and MMP, and for its inhibitory action on cell proliferation, cell migration, expression of telomerase reverse transcriptase and Top II genes, and increasing expression of pro-apoptotic genes. Evidence that Extreme Dilutions of Paclitaxel and Docetaxel Alter Gene Expression of In Vitro Breast Cancer Cells.
CONCLUSION:  Despite some limitations, our findings demonstrate that gene expression alterations also occur with ultra-high dilutions of taxane drugs. PMID: 29528476 [PubMed - in process]

In Vitro Assessment of Homeopathic Potencies of Hydrastis canadensis on Hormone-Dependent and Independent Breast Cancer.
CONCLUSION:  Hydrastis may have a selective cytotoxic effect against hormone-dependent breast cancer MCF 7 cells, leading to cell cycle arrest in the G0/G1 phase, which could be the plausible reason for the induction of apoptosis. The results need to be validated in vivo. PMID: 32610349 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

Perceptions of homeopathy in supportive cancer care among oncologists and general practitioners in France
ConclusionsHomeopathy is viewed favorably as an integrated SCO therapy by the majority of French physicians involved with cancer patients —oncologists and GPs. Symptoms of particular relevance include fatigue, anxiety, peripheral neuropathy, sleep disturbance, and hot flashes. In such clinical situations, response to conventional therapies may be suboptimal and homeopathy is considered a reliable therapeutic option. These two studie s highlight the fact that homeopathy has gained legitimacy as the first complementary therapy in SCO in France.
