Update on hormesis and its relation to homeopathy.
CONCLUSION: The authors suggest exploring the differences between both systems. Such exploration may answer the key question of whether they do indeed share a root or embrace the same principles. Such exploration may also spur research within both systems to answer further open questions. PMID: 26678722 [PubMed - in process]

Homeopathy Use in the United States and Implications for Public Health: A Review.
Abstract Homeopathy is used by just over 2% of the U.S. population, predominantly for respiratory, otorhinolaryngology, and musculoskeletal complaints. Individual users who see a homeopathic provider for care are more likely to perceive the therapy as helpful than those who do not; however, only 19% of users in the United States see a provider. The rest presumably rely upon over-the-counter products. Recent clinical trials highlight several areas in which homeopathy may play a role in improving public health, including infectious diseases, pain management, mental health, and cancer care. Homeopathy in Experimental Cancer Models: A Systematic Review.
CONCLUSION:  Fundamental research of homeopathy in cancer is still at an early stage and has mainly been performed by a few groups of investigators. The results point to an interference of well-selected homeopathic medicines with cell cycle and apoptotic mechanisms in cancer cells. However, these findings still need independent reproduction. Homeopathy as Therapy for Mycosis Fungoides: Case Reports of Three Patients.
CONCLUSIONS:  MF may respond to individualized homeopathic medicine. Although the case number here is small, MF is not a common disorder, spontaneous remission is not usually expected, and the disease may progress to a more severe form. Hence, these findings could serve as a basis for further research into the role of individualized homeopathic medicine in the treatment of MF. PMID: 31344727 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

Reasons for Use of and Experiences with Homeopathic Treatment as an Adjunct to Usual Cancer Care: Results of a Small Qualitative Study.
CONCLUSION:  The cancer patients in this study sought homeopathy to address their hopes and concerns and to help them face obstacles and find support. They were actively taking responsibility for their own health and valued the whole person approach used by their homeopaths. Participants reported improved well-being both at the physical and mental levels. The results provide a basis for further research to learn more from patients' experiences with this intervention. Such knowledge could potentially be helpful to improve healthcare practitioners' communication with patients, and thereby patients' overall care. PMID:...
