Impact of the National Policy on Integrative and Complementary Practices on Brazilian Public Homeopathy Services
CONCLUSIONS: Though important to the development of homeopathy services in any given location, policies stated in the NPICP were revealed to have limited impact on the implementation and development of new services. Without further legislation, training programs and appropriate budget allocation, new services will be unable to thrive and their users unable to benefit from a more comprehensive approach to healthcare.PMID:34891177 | DOI:10.1055/s-0041-1736333

Perceptions of homeopathy in supportive cancer care among oncologists and general practitioners in France
ConclusionsHomeopathy is viewed favorably as an integrated SCO therapy by the majority of French physicians involved with cancer patients —oncologists and GPs. Symptoms of particular relevance include fatigue, anxiety, peripheral neuropathy, sleep disturbance, and hot flashes. In such clinical situations, response to conventional therapies may be suboptimal and homeopathy is considered a reliable therapeutic option. These two studie s highlight the fact that homeopathy has gained legitimacy as the first complementary therapy in SCO in France.

Is Homeopathy More Effective Now Than a Hundred Years Ago?
Homœopathic Links 2021; 34: 123-129 DOI: 10.1055/s-0041-1731760During the past century, the amount of information about homeopathic medicines has grown dramatically. However, the recent coronavirus disease 2019 pandemic has shown that homeopathic practitioners do not use more medicines than a century ago and they seem to use less symptoms to find the proper medicine. This could be explained by the fact that the more than a hundred years old repertory was flawed from the beginning and that more information in the repertory leads the practitioner astray in an increasingly complex labyrinth of data. This can be resolved by ap...

Use of Complementary and Alternative Medicine in Patients with Primary Immunodeficiency: a Multicentric Analysis of 101 Patients
AbstractThe term complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) describes a broad spectrum of health care practices that are not an integral part of the conventional health care system. Many patients worldwide use CAM on their own initiative, often in combination with their conventional medical therapy. CAM use is attractive especially to patients with primary immunodeficiency, since they suffer from frequent infections and autoimmunity. Those are frequently addressed by CAM providers. The aim of this multicentric study was to collect information on the use of CAM by these patients and to define characteristics that are asso...

The Experience of an Italian Public Homeopathy Clinic during the COVID-19 Epidemic, March-May 2020.
Abstract During the COVID-19 epidemic in Italy, hospital outpatient clinics progressively decreased their activities; in March 2020 they were closed except for emergencies. The use of Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM) among Italian children: A cross-sectional survey.
CONCLUSION: The prevalence of children using CAM in Novara is high, in line with investigations conducted in Northern European countries. The distribution of pathologies treated with CAM, parental socio-economic status and general scepticism towards vaccination are consistent with the literature. Physicians should keep themselves up-to-date also about evidence-based CAM therapies and, most importantly, should have an open dialogue about CAM with their patients. Swiss paediatrician survey on complementary medicine.
CONCLUSIONS: In a representative sample of paediatricians in Switzerland, their personal attitude towards CM is positive, emphasised by great interest in CM training, a willingness to contribute to CM research and a high rate of paediatricians who use CM for themselves and their families. In contrast, the percentage of paediatricians offering CM is currently rather low despite strong demand for CM for children. This study provides key pointers for the future development of complementary and integrative medicine for children in Switzerland. PMID: 31203577 [PubMed - in process]

Survey of Integrative Medicine in Myeloproliferative Neoplasms (The SIMM Study-2)
Conclusion:In a geographically diverse MPN patient population, and when adjusting for healthy lifestyle practices overall, patterns of lower symptom burden, fatigue, depression, and higher QoL were revealed with integrative medicine utilization. Although limited by gender discrepancy and patient reported data, this study may offer a foundation to structure future integrative medicine trials to complement standard therapies in MPN patients.DisclosuresGowin: Incyte: Consultancy, Other: Scientific Advisory Board, Speakers Bureau. Teaching midwives homeopathy—A Belgian pilot project
ConclusionsTraining midwives in homeopathy requires considerably more time than the 50 contact hours stipulated by law and would best be offered as interactive sessions providing powerful concrete case examples, spread over the course of one full year to allow for integration of the material into practice.
