Soybean allergen Gly m 1 in the atmosphere of a Brazilian Southern town
The allergen from soybean dust (Gly m 1) was described as possible cause of asthma in predisposed individuals, particularly in soy unloading port areas and soy workers. Concentrations that can cause sensitization and symptoms are unknown. We hypothise that the levels are high, considering Brazil a major soybean producer.
