Aspirin Use and Survival Among Patients With Breast Cancer: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis
CONCLUSIONS: The only significant association of aspirin with breast cancer outcomes is lower breast-cancer-specific mortality in patients who used aspirin post-diagnostically. However, factors such as selection bias and high inter-study heterogeneity mean that this result should not be treated as conclusive, and more substantial evidence such as that provided by RCTs is needed before any decisions on new clinical uses for aspirin should be made.PMID:37358878 | DOI:10.1093/oncolo/oyad186

Aspirin ameliorates the neurotoxicity of benzoapyrene in mice and HT22  cells: Possible role of miRNA-mRNA network
This study explored the miRNA-mRNA network in the B[a]P-induced neurotoxicity in mice and HT22 cells and the intervention of aspirin (ASP). HT22 cells were treated for 48 h with DMSO, B[a]P (20 μM), or both B[a]P (20 μM) and ASP (4 μM). Following B[a]P treatment, compared to the DMSO controls, HT22 cells showed injured cell morphology, reduced cell viability and neurotrophic factor concentrations, and increased LDH leakage, Aβ1-42, and inflammatory factor concentrations, which were improved by ASP. RNA sequencing and qPCR verified the significant differences of miRNA and mRNA profiles following B[a]P treatment, which w...

Acute reperfusion treatment and secondary prevention of cancer-related stroke: comprehensive overview and proposal of clinical algorithm
In conclusion, acute CRS remains a clinical challenge, with many patients suffering recurrent stroke, despite preventive measures. More randomized-controlled clinical trials are urgently needed to pinpoint the most effective management options for this subset of stroke patients.PMID:37342814 | PMC:PMC10278431 | DOI:10.1177/17562864231180717
