Aspirin 15cH has Different Effects on Morphology and Function of Lipopolysaccharide-Challenged RAW 264.7 Macrophages In Vitro Compared to a Pharmacological Dose of Aspirin
CONCLUSION: Aspirin 15cH, aspirin 200 µg/mL, LPS and succussed water appear to act as independent stimuli able to induce different patterns of macrophage response. Aspirin 15cH induced changes suggestive of M2 polarization of the macrophages (i.e., toward a wound healing or tissue repair, rather than inflammatory, phenotype). These preliminary findings need to be confirmed in further specific studies.PMID:37517405 | DOI:10.1055/s-0043-1769105

E-143 Treatment of intracranial aneurysms with surface modified flow diverters and single antiplatelet therapy: systematic review and meta-analysis
ConclusionsThe use of surface-modified FDs in the treatment of ruptured and unruptured aneurysms is feasible with a low rate of hemorrhagic events. However, the rate of ischemic events was non-negligible, which suggests caution should be taken if the decision is to implant a surface-modified FD with SAPT. Further studies evaluating outcomes of the specific SAPT protocols and homogenous surface-modified technology are needed to better define safety profiles.Disclosures J. Vivanco-Suarez: None. A. E-215 Kissing balloon angioplasty for vertebral artery ostial stenosis with overlapping subclavian artery stenosis: a technical case report
ConclusionsSingle balloon inflation in one artery at a bifurcation could potentially result in compression of the contralateral artery leading to occlusion and risk of embolization. To minimize these potential complications and snow-plow effect, concurrent inflation of bilateral balloons is employed. Simultaneous kissing angioplasty is a minimally invasive treatment alternative in challenging cases of overlapping VA and SCA stenoses.Disclosures M. Ismail: None. S. Bhagavan: None. A. Razak: None. Seeing Colchicine in a New Light: Repurposing Low-Dose Colchicine for Secondary Prevention of Cardiovascular Disease
This article presents a brief overview of colchicine's long history as a medicine, as well as a critical review of safety and efficacy from the results of recent cardiovascular clinical trials.FINDINGS: Long-term continuous colchicine use at doses between 0.6 and 2.4 mg has been used to prevent inflammatory flares in patients with gout and familial Mediterranean fever and less commonly employed in a range of other inflammatory conditions. In these settings, lifelong therapy has been found to be safe and well tolerated. Understanding the central role of inflammation in atherosclerosis has led to the search for effective ant...
