Frequency of health care provider recommendations for HPV vaccination: a survey in three large cities in China
DISCUSSION: The frequency of HCPs' recommendations for HPV vaccination in China was much lower than that in many developed countries. To enhance the recommendation frequency, medical institutions should help HCPs gain more knowledge of HPV and master communication skills. At the same time, the government should take measures to enhance the accessibility of HPV vaccines. The media should help to alleviate people's concerns and encourage them to face up sexual health.PMID:37497028 | PMC:PMC10366465 | DOI:10.3389/fpubh.2023.1203610

Fight Aging! Newsletter, November 14th 2022
In this study, we show that TXNIP is vital for the cell fate choice when cells are challenged by various stress signals. Furthermore, prolonged IGF1 treatment leads to the establishment of a premature senescence phenotype characterized by a unique senescence network signature. Combined IGF1/TXNIP-induced premature senescence can be associated with a typical secretory inflammatory phenotype that is mediated by STAT3/IL-1A signaling. Finally, these mechanistic insights might help with the understanding of basic aspects of IGF1-related pathologies in the clinical setting. Investigating the Ability of Type 2 Diabetes...

Oncolytic virus delivery modulated immune responses toward cancer therapy: Challenges and perspectives
Int Immunopharmacol. 2022 May 24;108:108882. doi: 10.1016/j.intimp.2022.108882. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTOncolytic viruses (OVs) harness the hallmarks of tumor cells and cancer-related immune responses for the lysis of malignant cells, modulation of the tumor microenvironment, and exertion of vaccine-like activities. However, efficient clinical exploitation of these potent therapeutic modules requires their systematic administration, especially against metastatic and solid tumors. Therefore, developing methods for shielding a virus from the neutralizing environment of the bloodstream while departing toward tumor sites...

Facilitators and barriers to colorectal cancer screening in an outpatient setting
CONCLUSION: Patient age, history of sleep apnea, and compliance with other health maintenance tests were significant facilitators to CRC screening, while no-show rate percent was a significant barrier in our patient population. This study will be of benefit to physicians in addressing and improving the CRC screening rates in our community.PMID:34368304 | PMC:PMC8316930 | DOI:10.12998/wjcc.v9.i21.5850
