Implementing the exoskeleton Ekso GTTM for gait rehabilitation in a stroke unit - feasibility, functional benefits and patient experiences.
CONCLUSIONS: Ekso GTTM can safely be implemented as a training tool in ordinary rehabilitation under the prerequisite of a structured organization and certified personnel. The patients progressed in all outcome measures and reported a high level of satisfaction. Implications for rehabilitation The powered exoskeleton Ekso GTTM was found feasible as a training option for in-patients with severe gait disorders after stroke within an ordinary rehabilitation setting. Repetitions, duration and intensity of upper limb practice following the implementation of robot assisted therapy with sub-acute stroke survivors: an observational study.
CONCLUSIONS: This is the first study to have observed an increase in UL practice with the inclusion of RT-UL as part of routine clinical practice. This increase in practice is considered to be due to RT-UL providing highly supportive and expeditious semi-supervised practice. Effects of electromechanically assisted gait trainer with Exowalk ® in patients with chronic stroke: A randomized controlled trial.

Robot-assisted gait training promotes brain reorganization after stroke: A randomized controlled pilot study.
CONCLUSIONS: Our findings indicate that RAGT can facilitate reorganization in the intact superior temporal, cingulate, and postcentral gyri. Factors influencing the amount of therapy received during inpatient stroke care: an analysis of data from the UK Sentinel Stroke National Audit Programme.
CONCLUSION: The amount of stroke therapy is associated with unmodifiable patient-related characteristics and modifiable organizational factors in that more therapy was associated with higher therapy and nurse staffing levels, specialist stroke rehabilitation services, timely therapy assessments, and the presence of weekend and early discharge services. Self-perceived functioning and disability after randomized conventional and electromechanically-assisted gait training in subacute stroke: a 6 months follow-up.
CONCLUSIONS: This study indicates that EAGT and conventional gait training in the subacute stage after stroke have no differential impact on self-perceived functioning, disability and recovery at 6 months after stroke. Further, the study highlights the importance of interventions targeting ADL and self-care independence during stroke rehabilitation to enhance self-perceived recovery and clinical aspects to be targeted to enhance perceived mobility. Outcome measures and motion capture systems for assessing lower limb orthosis-based interventions after stroke: a systematic review.
Conclusions: Studies showed heterogeneity in selecting outcomes and timings for assessment. There is evidence for assessing the evidence of orthosis-based gait rehabilitation after stroke through activity outcome measures, primarily the gait speed, recorded by non-wearable motion capture systems.
