The Association between Diffusion MRI ‐Defined Infarct Volume and NIHSS Score in Patients with Minor Acute Stroke
CONCLUSIONIn patients with minor stroke, the nature of deficit when used with the NIHSS score can improve prediction of infarct volume. This may have clinical and therapeutic implications.

Spatiotemporal microstructural white matter changes in diffusion tensor imaging after transient focal ischemic stroke in rats
In this study, spatiotemporal WM changes were examined with DTI‐derived parameters (fractional anisotropy, FA; mean diffusivity, MD; axial diffusivity, DA; radial diffusivity, RD) using TBSS 2 h to 6 weeks after experimental focal ischemic stroke in rats (N = 6). FA values remained unchanged 2–4 h after the stroke, followed by a continuous decrease in the ipsilesional hemisphere from 24 h to 2 weeks post‐stroke and gradual recovery from the ipsilesional corpus callosum to the external capsule until 6 weeks post‐stroke. Correlation between clot density and recanalization success or stroke etiology in acute ischemic stroke patients.

Screening with doppler ultrasound for carotid artery stenosis in patients with stroke or transient ischaemic attack
ConclusionsIn a major Danish stroke centre, the national recommended time limit of 4 days in patients with stroke or transient ischaemic attack for screening for carotid stenosis was met in almost all patients. No patients were excluded from surgery as a result of a time limit of 14 days from admission to surgery being exceeded. Of all patients screened, 1·2% underwent carotid endarterectomy.

Differential involvement of rubral branches in chronic capsular and pontine stroke
ConclusionsThe bilateral rubral branches were differentially involved in the chronic capsular and pontine stroke, and the impairment severity of each rubral branch was dependent on lesion locations. Stroke Recurrence in Children with Vertebral Artery Dissecting Aneurysm PEDIATRICS
