Diagnostic performance of gadoxetic acid-enhanced abbreviated magnetic resonance imaging protocol in small hepatocellular carcinoma ( ≤2 cm) in high-risk patients
CONCLUSION: A-MRI using diagnostic criteria including hypointensity on hepatobiliary phase plus mild to moderate hyperintensity on T2-weighted imaging or restricted diffusion demonstrated comparable sensitivity and specificity for small HCC compared to the F-MRI protocol in high-risk patients.PMID:37691270 | DOI:10.1177/02841851231195567

Laparoscopic Anatomical Liver Resection of Segment VIII by Using ICG Fluorescence Positive Staining Under the Guidance of Laparoscopic Ultrasonography
CONCLUSIONS: Laparoscopic anatomical liver resection of S8 has been demonstrated to be feasible. Under the guidance of laparoscopic ultrasonography, ICG positive staining was proven to be optimal for Anatomical segmentectomy.PMID:37556011 | DOI:10.1245/s10434-023-13920-7

Clinical Practice Guidelines For the Management of Hepatocellular Carcinoma: A Systematic Review
ConclusionsThe included CPGs provided a comprehensive approach, emphasizing the evaluation of risk factors, utilization of the BCLC staging system, and the importance of a multidisciplinary approach. Regular surveillance using ultrasound for cirrhotic patients was widely recommended. An understanding of contemporary international CPGs can prioritize aspects of the management of HCC to assist healthcare professionals to develop a national guideline to enable standardized, comprehensive, and evidence-based care for patients with HCC.

The Fatty Liver, Cirrhosis, and Liver Cancer Study (TENDENCY): Protocol for a Multicenter Case-Control Study
CONCLUSIONS: There is lack of effective screening tests for hepatocellular cancer despite higher mortality rates. The application of more sensitive plasma and urinary biomarkers for hepatocellular cancer screening in clinical practice will allow us to detect the disease at earlier stages and hence, overall, improve HCC outcomes.INTERNATIONAL REGISTERED REPORT IDENTIFIER (IRRID): DERR1-10.2196/44264.PMID:37256650 | DOI:10.2196/44264

A common presentation of uncommon disease - Biliary Fasciola Hepatica
We report three cases with similar clinical manifestations presenting in two different cities in Pakistan. After detailed clinical evaluation and laboratory investigations, the diagnosis was established by abdominal ultrasound and diagnostic and therapeutic cholangiography. Patients were followed till complete resolution of their symptoms and normalisation of liver function tests.PMID:37165596 | DOI:10.1177/00494755231174264
