Effects of an Infection Control Protocol for Coronavirus Disease in Emergency Mechanical Thrombectomy
CONCLUSION: The COVID-19 protection protocol significantly impacted the door-to-imaging time. Shortening the door-to-imaging time and performing the procedure under local anesthesia, if possible, may be required to reduce the door-to-puncture and doorto- recanalization times. The effect of various aspects of the protection protocol on emergency thrombectomy should be further studied.PMID:34879638 | DOI:10.3340/jkns.2021.0053

Monitored anesthesia care during mechanical thrombectomy for stroke: need for data-driven and individualized decisions
Conclusions Our study showed that the overall rate of conversion from MAC to GA during MT was low (1.6%) and, while higher in posterior circulation strokes, it was not predicted by either hemispheric dominance or stroke severity. Caution should be given before changing clinical practice during moments of crisis.

Conclusions: Adequate management of AIS patients requiring mechanical thrombectomy during the pandemic is of paramount importance to maximise the benefit of the endovascular procedure. MDT work and familiarity with NORA principles decrease the negative impact of the disease on the clinical outcomes for AIS patients.

Pulmonary Embolism and Cardiac Tamponade in Critical Care Patients with COVID-19; Telemedicine's Role in Developing Countries: Case Reports and Literature Review
CONCLUSIONS: During admission, both patients had sudden deterioration characterized by oxygen desaturation and hypotension necessitating inotropic support. As a result, for both patients, bedside echocardiography was performed by the attending intensivist.
