Knowledge and attitude about cervical cancer and human papillomavirus vaccine among medical and paramedical students of a university
CONCLUSION: The study shows the dismal knowledge levels about HPV amongst students. Participants were interested in seeking knowledge; consider HPV vaccination provided they were provided with sufficient knowledge.PMID:34017771 | PMC:PMC8132775 | DOI:10.4103/jfmpc.jfmpc_625_20

Oral and laryngeal HPV infection: Incidence, prevalence and risk factors, with special regard to concurrent infection in head, neck and genitals
Vaccine. 2021 Mar 31:S0264-410X(21)00340-6. doi: 10.1016/j.vaccine.2021.03.047. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTThis review focuses on the importance of oral and laryngeal HPV infection which is present in majority of sexually active individuals at least once in their lifetime. The main premise to ta...

Fight Aging! Newsletter, March 1st 2021
This study may have important implications for preventing cell senescence and aging-induced tendinopathy, as well as for the selection of novel therapeutic targets of chronic tendon diseases. Our results showed that the treatment of bleomycin, a DNA damaging agent, induced rat patellar TSC (PTSC) cellular senescence. The senescence was characterized by an increase in the senescence-associated β-galactosidase activity, as well as senescence-associated changes in cell morphology. On the other hand, rapamycin could extend lifespan in multiple species, including yeast, fruit flies, and mice, by decelerating DNA damage ...

Can Commun Dis Rep. 2020 Nov 5;46(1112):380-383. doi: 10.14745/ccdr.v46i1112a03. eCollection 2020 Nov 5.ABSTRACTCanada is among the world leaders in oral health. Despite this, there are growing concerns about the rising rates of HPV-related mouth and throat cancers. The link between human papillomavirus (HPV) and cervical cancer is well established; fortunately, thanks to detection and vaccination, Canada has one of the lowest incidence rates of cervical cancer in the world. The HPV-related mouth and throat cancers, however, present a different picture. In Canada, about 25% to 35% of mouth and throat cancers are related to...
