Conclusions: Acupuncture therapy seems effective for motor function, pain relief and activities of daily living in stroke patients with mild SHS, when it is used in combination with rehabilitation. Use of Chinese herbal medicines by rheumatoid arthritis patients was associated with lower risk of stroke: A retrospective cohort study.

Decreased Risk of Stroke in People Using Red Yeast Rice Prescriptions (LipoCol Forte ®): a Total Population-Based Retrospective Cohort Study
This study showed a potentially positive effect of RYR on the risk of stroke. However, compliance with medication use should be cautioned. Reduced Stroke Risk among Patients with Atrial Fibrillation Receiving Chinese Herbal Medicines Treatment: Analysis of Domestic Data in Taiwan.
CONCLUSIONS: The findings of the present study suggest that adding CHMs to conventional therapy could decrease subsequent stroke risk for AF patients. It is also suggested that prospective randomized trials are needed to further clarify if the detected association revealed in this study supports a causal link, and to identify the specific CHMs that may be beneficial to AF patients. Ischemic Stroke Patients' Decision-Making Process in Their Use of Western Medicine and Alternative and Complementary Medicine
This study aimed to explore ischemic stroke patients' decision-making process using Western medicine (WM) and complementary and alternative medicine (CAM). This study is a qualitative study based on grounded theory. A total of 12 participants were recruited. An Investigation of the Use of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Complementary and Alternative Medicine in Stroke Patients
This study aimed to investigate the use of traditional Chinese medicine and complementary and alternative medicine in stroke patients in Taiwan. Chinese herbal medicine, massage, acupuncture, natural products, and exercise were widely used among stroke patients. Integrating safe and effective traditional Chinese medicine and complementary and alternative medicine into conventional therapies is suggested.

Integrative Therapy Combining Chinese Herbal Medicines With Conventional Treatment Reduces the Risk of Cardiovascular Disease Among Patients With Systemic Lupus Erythematosus: A Retrospective Population-Based Cohort Study
In conclusion, CHM use reduced the risk of CVD among patients with SLE in Taiwan. Further randomized studies may be needed to determine the definite causal relationship between CHM use and its protective effects against CVD among patients with SLE.
