We present here a protocol to investigate the feasibility and fidelity of implementing a uniform stroke care pathway in medical colleges of India. Improving Stroke Care In Bhutan
Developing nations face the double burden of communicable and non-communicable diseases. Bhutan is a developing country, and has achieved significant milestones in its health indicators. Increasing burden of stroke and the lack of evidence based stroke care system in the country ’s hospitals is proving to be a challenge to provide quality stroke care. Despite the logistical challenge of referring stroke patients on time, lack of trained health care professionals and resources, Bhutan has recently started various initiatives to improve stroke care with the help of WHO-SEA RO, WHO-Geneva, and Christian Medical College, Ludhiana, India.

Glasgow Coma Scale ≤ 12 at Admission is a Predictor of Poor Functional Outcome (mRS 2–6) at One Year in Patients with Cerebral Venous Thrombosis
Cerebral venous thrombosis (CVT) is a relatively uncommon cause of stroke with reported annual incidence of 0.2 –1.57 per hundred thousand population.1 Although the exact incidence of the disease in India is not known it is believed to be more common than western population especially in the young. It may occur in as much as 15–20% of all strokes occurring in age less than 40 years.2 The mean age in a lar ge series from India was around 30 years.3 Over the last few decades, the mortality rates of CVT have declined to around 4–5% due to improved diagnostic imaging, better therapeutics, and hospital care.
