Causes of Death in Endovascularly Treated Patients with Acute Stroke INTERVENTIONAL
CONCLUSIONS: Cerebrovascular causes in patients with stroke play a major role in the intrahospital causes of death and reasons for palliation. Considering the large proportion of secondarily palliative–treated patients, reasons for palliation should be considered instead of causes of death to avoid concealment by, for example, life-terminating measures.

Effects of chronic flexed wrist posture on the elasticity and crosssectional area of the median nerve at the carpal tunnel among chronic stroke patients.
CONCLUSIONS: These results suggest that chronic flexed wrist posture may cause atrophy of the median nerve due to chronic compression after stroke and increase in the stiffness of the median nerve. PMID: 29400371 [PubMed - in process]

Prehospital management of acute stroke : Using the example of Saarland ambulance services.
CONCLUSIONS: With good traffic and hospital infrastructure in Saarland, severe strokes can be treated primarily in neurovascular centers. Differentiated care requirements with monitoring of key figures in medical quality management and clear agreements with the target hospitals in the implementation of a common care strategy are essential. Interdisciplinary networking for optimal treatment decision-making : Fast decision-making in acute ischemic stroke management
This article presents a concept for supraregional stroke care by means of networking all involved actors in the prehospital as well as in the in-hospital area. Further needs analyses should ensure the implementation as well as the generalizability to different regions.PMID:34232343 | DOI:10.1007/s00117-021-00876-6

Structured Reporting of Acute Ischemic Stroke - Consensus-Based Reporting Templates for Non-Contrast Cranial Computed Tomography, CT Angiography, and CT Perfusion
CONCLUSION: Implementation of the structured template may increase quality and provide a minimum standard for radiological reports in patients with acute ischemic stroke.KEY POINTS: · The German Society of Radiology and the German Society of Neuroradiology are providing support for the development of structured templates in German.. · We present a template for the structured reporting of examinations of patients with acute ischemic stroke by non-contrast computed tomography, CT angiography, and CT perfusion. Machine learning based outcome prediction of large vessel occlusion of the anterior circulation prior to thrombectomy in patients with wake-up stroke
CONCLUSION: Machine learning algorithms have the potential to aid in the decision making for thrombectomy in patients with wake-up stroke especially in hospitals, where emergency CTP or MRI imaging is not available.PMID:36344011 | DOI:10.1177/15910199221135695

Outcome of Stroke Patients with Unknown Onset and Unknown Time Last Known Well Undergoing Endovascular Therapy
ConclusionThe LKWu patients had a  similar outcome after ET as KO and LKWk patients after adjusting for confounders. Thus, ET should not be withheld if the time last known well is unknown. Instead, LKWu patients may be selected for ET using the same criteria as in LKWk patients.
