Normative Data for the Alternating and Orthographic Constraint Semantic Fluency Tests in the Adult French-Quebec Population and Validation Study in Mild Cognitive Impairment and Alzheimer's Disease
Arch Clin Neuropsychol. 2023 Sep 14:acad065. doi: 10.1093/arclin/acad065. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTVerbal fluency tests, known to elicit executive functions (EFs), have proven useful in distinguishing healthy individuals from those with cognitive impairment. The present study addresses two new tests of verbal fluency that elicit EFs, namely, extradimensional alternating fluency (EAF) and extradimensional orthographic constraint semantic fluency (EOCSF). The aim of Study 1 was to provide normative data in the adult and elderly population of French Québec for the two fluency tests. The aim of Study 2 was to determine t...

Anti-infective prescribing practices in critically ill children on continuous renal replacement therapy: a multicenter survey of French-speaking countries
CONCLUSIONS: Our survey reported wide variability in anti-infective prescribing practices in children undergoing continuous renal replacement therapy, thus highlighting a gap in knowledge and the need for education and recommendations.PMID:37698831 | DOI:10.1007/s40620-023-01762-1

Home NIV treatment quality in patients with chronic respiratory failure having participated to the French nationwide telemonitoring experimental program (The TELVENT study)
CONCLUSION: The TELVENT study highlights the importance of remote NIV monitoring to rapidly identify patients with unsuccessful ventilation. The combination of remote monitoring and therapeutic education may improve the quality of home NIV, especially in the first months of treatment.PMID:37683442 | DOI:10.1016/j.resmer.2023.101028

How Does Sexual Subjectivity Vary on the Basis of Gender and Sexual Orientation? Validation of the Short Sexual Subjectivity Inventory (SSSI-11) in Cisgender, Heterosexual and Sexual and Gender Minority Adolescents
This study examined (1) the factor structure of the adapted Short Sexual Subjectivity Inventory-11 items (SSSI-11) in a large sample of young cisgender, heterosexual and sexual and gender minority adolescents, (2) measurement invariance across language (English and French), gender, and sexual orientation, (3) validity with sexuality-related outcomes, and (4) one-year temporal stability. Results of a confirmatory factor analysis among 2001 adolescents (Mage = 15.5 years, SD = 0.60) revealed a multidimensional factor structure. The SSSI-11, in both English and French, showed adequate reliability and one-year temporal stabili...

Prescription-free consultation: A cross-sectional study in general practice
CONCLUSION: Acute consultations limit prescription-free consultations. General practitioners (GPs) probably overestimate patients' expectation of drug prescription. The French GP must be supported in their decision to not prescribe drugs. This is a long-term investment of time, to educate patients and avoid new consultations for acute reasons. A tool to help doctors manage non-prescription during acute consultations will be created in a future study in France.PMID:37625938 | DOI:10.1016/j.therap.2023.07.003

Parental acceptability of vaccinating young children against influenza and COVID-19
CONCLUSION: About 40 % of the parents were supportive of children's vaccinations against COVID-19 and influenza respectively (37 % and 42 %) in order to protect the vulnerable people around them. The media influences the decision to vaccinate especially when the level of education is low.PMID:37580209 | DOI:10.1016/j.vaccine.2023.08.005
