Clinical analysis of bacterial infection characteristics in lymphoma patients with high-dose chemotherapy combined with autologous hematopoietic stem cell transplantation-a single-centered retrospective study
CONCLUSION: High-dose chemotherapy combined with autologous hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HDT/AHSCT) is used to treat lymphoma. Although AHSCT has made considerable strides and become safer, HDT-AHSCT infection continues to be a leading cause of morbidity and mortality associated with transplantation.PMID:37718527 | DOI:10.2174/1386207326666230915115056

Renal outcomes in older adults with antineutrophil cytoplasmic autoantibody-associated vasculitis: a new prediction model
CONCLUSION: We established a risk-scoring system based on baseline clinical characteristics to predict composite renal outcomes in patients with AAV. Our results suggest that more attention should be paid to older patients with severe renal impairment and active inflammation.PMID:37708862 | DOI:10.1159/000533512

CYP3A5 Genotype-Dependent Drug-Drug Interaction Between Tacrolimus and Voriconazole in Chinese Kidney Transplant Patients
CONCLUSION AND RELEVANCE: The median C0/D values were 90.38% higher in kidney transplant recipients with CYP3A5*3/*3 genotype than in those with CYP3A5*1/*1 or CYP3A5*1/*3 genotype when treated with both tacrolimus and voriconazole. A CYP3A5 genotype-dependent DDI was found between tacrolimus and voriconazole. Therefore, personalized therapy accounting for CYP3A5 genotype detection and therapeutic drug monitoring is necessary for kidney transplant patients when treating with tacrolimus and voriconazole.PMID:37702380 | DOI:10.1177/10600280231197399

Clinical Benefit of Autologous Stem Cell Transplantation for Patients with Multiple Myeloma Achieving Undetectable Minimal Residual Disease after Induction Treatment
Cancer Res Commun. 2023 Sep 6;3(9):1770-1780. doi: 10.1158/2767-9764.CRC-23-0185. eCollection 2023 Sep.ABSTRACTAttaining undetectable minimal residual disease (MRD) is the current therapeutic goal for multiple myeloma. But there is a current lack of data regarding the clinical benefit of autologous stem cell transplantation (ASCT) for patients with myeloma achieving early MRD-negative status after induction treatment, in addition to the interaction of longitudinal MRD status with ASCT. The current study included 407 patients with transplant-eligible multiple myeloma with available MRD status from the National Longitudinal ...

Ootheca mantidis mitigates renal fibrosis in mice by the suppression of apoptosis via increasing the gut microbe Akkermansia muciniphila and modulating glutamine metabolism
In this study, we demonstrated the dose-dependent attenuation of RIF by Ootheca mantidis (SPX), a commonly prescribed TCM for CKD, in a mouse model of unilateral ureteral obstruction (UUO). RNA-sequencing analysis suggested that SPX treatment prominently downregulated apoptosis and inflammation-associated pathways, thereby inhibiting the fibrogenic signaling in the kidney. We further found that transplantation of fecal microbiota from SPX-treated mice conferred protection against renal injury and fibrosis through suppressing apoptosis in UUO mice, indicating that SPX ameliorated RIF via remodeling the gut microbiota and re...

Preoperative Levosimendan Administration in Heart Transplant Patients with Severe Hepatic and Renal Impairment: A Retrospective Study
CONCLUSIONS: In the population with advanced heart failure awaiting heart transplantation, levosimendan did not increase short- or long-term mortality rates after surgery compared to dobutamine/dopamine, regardless of their hepatic or renal function. Severe hepatic or renal impairment were not necessarily considered a contraindication for levosimendan in these patients.PMID:37679092 | DOI:10.59958/hsf.5433
