A sequential mediation model of perceived social support, mindfulness, perceived hope, and mental health literacy: An empirical study on Taiwanese university students
This study explored the mediation of mindfulness and perceived hope between perceived social support and mental health literacy in university students. Of 568 students (205 males, 363 females, average age 20.97) from 70 Taiwanese universities, tools like the Perceived Social Support Scale, General Health Questionnaire, Mindful Attention Awareness Scale, and State Hope Scale were used, adapted to Traditional Chinese through back-translation. Confirmatory factor analysis affirmed model validity. Hayes' PROCESS Model 6 analyzed the data. The results showed an indirect effect of social support on mental health literacy via min...

Meta ‐analysis of the efficacy and safety of arthroscopic surgery associated with platelet‐rich plasma infusion when treating knee osteoarthritis
ConclusionArthroscopic debridement associated with PRP is more successful in relieving knee pain and enhancing knee joint function than arthroscopic debridement in treating KOA. The treatment scheme deserves to be popularized in clinical practice, but further research and longer interventions will be needed to validate it, using high-quality methods.

What is the optimal dose of adipose-derived mesenchymal stem cells treatment for knee osteoarthritis? A conventional and network meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials
CONCLUSIONS: Both cell doses reduced pain and improved knee function in KOA patients. The effect surpassed in the high-dose group than in the moderate-dose, low-dose and control groups. However, adverse events also increase with the increase in dose, which should be carefully considered in clinical application, and the side effects still need to be paid attention to. Considering the limitations of this meta-analysis, future studies need to further explore the efficacy and safety of different doses of treatment, and carry out large sample, multi-center, randomized controlled trials to ensure the reliability and promotion va...

Red fire ants, a dreaded pest, have invaded Europe
Last week, international experts warned that invasive species are costing the world economy almost half-a-trillion dollars annually . Today, researchers confirmed that one of the most fearsome invaders—the red fire ant ( Solenopsis invicta ), a pest native to South America that packs a painful sting and infests houses and crops—has taken hold in Italy. It is the first European detection of colonies, which are known to drive out native ants and other wildlife and damage electrical equipment. “The findings are an important call for immediate action,” says Cleo Bertelsmeier, an expert in invasive inse...

A Recent Digitalization in Recycling Industry Attaining Ecological Sustainability: A Comprehensive Outlook and Future Trend
Environ Sci Pollut Res Int. 2023 Sep 11. doi: 10.1007/s11356-023-29537-y. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTThe management of waste through dual way of recycling (i-e offline and online) is assumed to have a key role in attaining ecological sustainability and enabling circular practices. The research on online recycling is gaining evolution in recent age. Prior literature on the current research theme has failed to provide a comprehensive outlook and future trend. Therefore, the current research intends to elaborate the current research scenario linked with online recycling by critically scrutinizing the prior research over th...

Autologous micro-fragmented adipose tissue in the treatment of atherosclerosis patients with knee osteoarthritis in geriatric population: A systematic review and meta-analysis
CONCLUSION: Atherosclerosis and osteoarthritis share common risk factors and comorbidity. And the use of micro-fragmented adipose tissue may benefit for improving symptoms of knee osteoarthritis accompanied by atherosclerosis although may lead to some mild adverse events. Randomized controlled trials with long-term follow-up are necessary for further evaluation because many limitations of this meta-analysis cannot be ignored.PMID:37651377 | DOI:10.1371/journal.pone.0289610
