Complete Recovery of an Occluded Coronary Artery Secondary to Spontaneous Coronary Artery Dissection With Medical Management in a Young Patient Presenting With Acute Coronary Syndrome
This article highlights that early diagnosis, recognition, and medical management of SCAD can prevent unnecessary invasive intervention.PMID:36381871 | PMC:PMC9636843 | DOI:10.7759/cureus.29980

OCTA Biomarker Search in Patients with nAMD: Influence of Retinal Fluid on Time-Dependent Biomarker Response
CONCLUSIONS: OCTA-based parameters VA, TVL, TNJ, and MNVarea show a strong response to anti-VEGF therapy over time, independent of the presence of IRF, SRF or RT. We conclude that the above listed OCTA parameters could contribute to our understanding of MNV biology and to guide individualized treatment in the future.TRIAL REGISTRY: The authors confirm that all ongoing and related trials are registered. Application of postmortem computed tomography angiography to settle a medical dispute after aortic dissection surgery: a forensic case report
CONCLUSIONS: While many previous postmortem imaging case reports have shown positive results that provided evidence of medical malpractice, the current case excludes the possibility of physician negligence and reasonably settles the medical dispute from another perspective. In short, the PMCTA approach we describe here was an effective tool that can be applied to certain medical-related forensic cases.PMID:37596679 | DOI:10.1186/s13019-023-02353-8

Creating Virtual Models and 3D Movies Using DemoMaker for Anatomical Education
Adv Exp Med Biol. 2023;1431:161-175. doi: 10.1007/978-3-031-36727-4_8.ABSTRACTThree-dimensional (3D) anatomy models have been used for education in health professional schools globally. Virtual technology has become more popular for online teaching since the COVID-19 pandemic. This chapter will describe a project in which a series of virtual anatomical models of organs and structures were developed for educational purposes, and it will describe in detail how to build three-dimensional (3D) movies using DemoMaker. Although setting up the 3D system was complicated and challenging, the process of reconstructing 3D models from...

Atrial fibrillation as a contributing factor in the diagnostic algorithm for coronary subclavian steal syndrome and cardiac tamponade following coronary artery bypass graft surgery: a case study
We present a case of a 73-year-old man with a medical history of atrial fibrillation, peripheral artery disease, and CABG surgery four months before the current event, who came to the emergency department due to progressive dyspnea. The initial diagnostic management showed a large circulatory pericardial effusion, so the patient was admitted to the coronary care unit and underwent pericardial drainage. In the following days, due to a sudden high increase in cardiac troponin, the patient underwent an urgent coronary angiography, which revealed severe left SAS with functional CABG, indicating the occurrence of CSSS. Percutan...
