LB1685 Deciphering sensitization patterns in atopic dermatitis patients with atopic comorbidities
In this study, we aim at specifying sensitization patterns against airborne and food allergens of patients suffering from different atopic diseases (Food allergies, allergic asthma, allergic rhinoconjunctivitis) with or without concurrent AD.

Type IV sensitizations in physical therapists: Patch test results of the Information Network of Departments of Dermatology (IVDK) 2007–2011
ConclusionsIn this first comprehensive study of contact allergies among physical therapists in German‐speaking countries, a link between skin disease and work was felt likely in nearly 50 % of the tested cohort. To which extent the results shown in this work can be confirmed and which consequences these have for occupational preventive measures should be examined in additional, preferably longitudinal studies.

Use of specific immunotherapy – a survey of 15,164 employed persons in Germany
ConclusionsAlthough about one‐quarter of respondents reported allergies that might benefit from SIT, less than one‐third had undergone treatment. The main reason was having mild symptoms; guideline or healthcare‐related issues were responsible only to a limited extent.

Children with Atopic Dermatitis Should Always be Patch-tested if They Have Hand or Foot Dermatitis.
In conclusion, children with AD should be tested for contact allergy more often, especially in situation with therapy resistance and severe dermatitis, since this may indicate allergic contact dermatitis. PMID: 25367826 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

Successful medical treatment of a severe reaction to red tattoo pigment.
Authors: Feldstein S, Jagdeo J Abstract Tattoo allergies are often eczematous skin rashes that can be complicated by ulceration and infection. These allergies are difficult to resolve, sometimes requiring surgical or laser intervention, with varying success. Here we present a case of a 29-year-old woman with a serious skin allergic reaction to red tattoo ink that ulcerated and became secondarily infected. The patient expressed a desire to have the tattoo allergic reaction treated while preserving the cosmetic appearance of her tattoo for sentimental reasons. This case is being presented to provide an effective trea...

169 Variation in the ‘atopic march’ by age of atopic dermatitis onset
The ‘atopic march’ is said to occur when a child with atopic dermatitis (AD) later develops asthma and/or seasonal allergies. However, variation exists in both the age of AD onset and the development of other forms of atopy. To examine the risk of asthma and seasonal allergies among children with AD respective to the age of AD onset, we performed a cohort study of 3966 patients in the Pediatric Eczema Elective Registry, a prospective registry of patients with pediatric onset AD. The median enrollment age was 6.5 (IQR 4.0-10.2) years old.

TSLP, IL‐31, IL‐33 and sST2 are new biomarkers in endophenotypic profiling of adult and childhood atopic dermatitis
ConclusionsThe studied targets hold little potential as indicators of disease severity. The serum values of our targets show robustness against atopic comorbidities, allergies and changes in disease severity. This robustness strengthens their potential use in biomarker‐based stratification and could be instrumental in identifying subgroups and predicting the possible benefit of therapeutic and prevention approaches.

Perceptions and Practices Regarding Atopic Dermatitis: A Survey
Abstract Parents (N = 392) completed a survey at the Minnesota State Fair in August and September 2015 addressing knowledge regarding the pathogenesis of atopic dermatitis (AD), basic skin care practices, and the perceived role of infection and food allergies in AD. Of participating parents, 82% identified food allergy or sensitivity in AD pathogenesis, whereas only 42% identified bacterial infection as an important factor in AD severity. Participants most often received education on skin health from their pediatrician (49%), followed by Internet‐based sources (23%), rather than a dermatologist or pediatric dermatologist...
