Contact Allergy to two Aluminum Salts in Consecutively Patch-Tested Dermatitis Patients
CONCLUSIONS: Patch testing with ACH and AL demonstrated similar contact allergy frequencies. To detect aluminum allergy, patch testing with ACH 10.0% pet is recommended. Aluminum chloride hexahydrate 10.0% pet should be considered for inclusion in baseline series for patch testing adults and children.PMID:34570735 | DOI:10.1097/DER.0000000000000787

Nickel allergy following EU regulation in Denmark, Germany, Italy and the United Kingdom
ConclusionThere has been a reduction in the prevalence of nickel allergy in young women, contemporaneous with the introduction of the nickel regulation. A reduction is also suggested in German and British men. A causative effect of the regulatory intervention is the most likely explanation. This article is protected by copyright. All rights reserved.

Methylisothiazolinone Contact Allergy is Rising to Alarming Heights Also in Southern Sweden.
In conclusion, due to the increase of contact allergy to MI not traced by MCI/MI 200 ppm, MI in water at 2,000 ppm should be tested in a baseline series. Independent of patch test technique a dose of 60 µg/cm should not be exceeded to avoid adverse reactions and particularly patch test sensitisation. PMID: 24676461 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

Occupations at risk of developing contact allergy to isothiazolinones in Danish contact dermatitis patients: results from a Danish multicentre study (2009–2012)
ConclusionSeveral high‐risk occupations for sensitization to isothiazolinones exist. Regulation on the allowed concentration of isothiazolinones, and especially MI, in both consumer products and industrial products is needed.

Seafood allergy in cooks: a case series and review of the literature
ConclusionsSeafood allergy in cooks is mostly characterized by a quick progressive course of disease, generally at the start of the cooking career. The prognosis for continuance in occupation is poor and an occupational disease must be considered at an early stage. An emergency kit with an epinephrine auto‐injector should be provided for life by the responsible accident insurer.

Eighteen cases of wheat allergy and wheat‐dependent exercise‐induced urticaria/anaphylaxis sensitized by hydrolyzed wheat protein in soap
DiscussionThe clinical symptomology was so variable that the patients were classified into six groups. We found that patients with HWP allergy tended to manifest symptoms of both HWP–wheat‐dependent exercise‐induced anaphylaxis and contact urticaria. The etiology of hydrolyzed wheat protein allergy is unknown. Patients with a history of these symptoms need to be informed about the risk of consuming wheat‐containing foods and the importance of excluding such items from their diet.

What Is the Relevance of Contact Allergy to Sodium Metabisulfite and Which Concentration of the Allergen Should We Use?
CONCLUSIONS: Our study confirms reports of increasing prevalence of SMB allergy. A detailed review of exposure in the prospective study showed that SMB is relevant in most patients, and 1% in petrolatum is the best concentration for patch testing. PMID: 26172484 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

House-dust mite allergy: mapping of Dermatophagoides pteronyssinus allergens for dogs by two-dimensional immunoblotting.
CONCLUSIONS: Several similarities were found between dog and human allergograms and no absolute correlation between sensitization and allergy was observed either. As in humans, different individual allergograms do not seem to implicate different clinical patterns, but may influence the response to specific immunotherapy. The molecular epidemiology approach in veterinary allergy management, by the characterization of individual patients' allergoms and by choosing the best molecular allergen pool for each patient could also improve the efficacy of allergy immunotherapy. Sorbitan sesquioleate; a rare cause of contact allergy in consecutively patch tested dermatitis patients
ConclusionsSSO is a rare cause of contact allergy, with a 5‐year prevalence of 0.2% in consecutively tested patients. Contact allergy to the emulsifier does not play a major role when the overall frequency of contact allergy to FM I is evaluated. However, to correctly diagnose individual patients, concomitant patch testing with FM I and SSO is encouraged.

Identifying and Managing Local Anesthetic Allergy in Dermatologic Surgery
CONCLUSION: True IgE-mediated anaphylaxis to local anesthesia is very rare. Dermatologic surgeons should be aware of the symptoms of anesthetic allergy and its mimickers, as well as how to manage allergic reactions in their clinical practice.

Eyelid edema as a predictive factor for sensitization to Pru p 7 in peach allergy
Abstract The clinical and laboratory factors related to Pru p 7 sensitization in peach allergy, compared with those associated with sensitization to Pru p 1, which is related to pollen‐food allergy syndrome (PFAS), have still not been clarified. The aim of the present study was to identify the clinical and laboratory features associated with sensitization to Pru p 7. Fifty patients (male : female, 14:36; mean age, 31.8 years) with peach allergy were enrolled in this study. Specific immunoglobulin E (sIgE) against the purified nPru p 7 was measured by enzyme‐linked immunoassay, whereas using ImmunoCAP, sIgE levels again...
