Cytotoxic, genotoxic and antimicrobial activity of caffeic and rosmarinic acids and their lithium, sodium and potassium salts as potential anticancer compounds
ConclusionThe results of the experiment show that there is no clear positive correlation between the antioxidant potency of caffeic and rosmarinic acids and their Li, Na and K salts and their cytotoxic effect. Used salts ions Li, Na and K do not significantly affect the antioxidant effect of natural phenolic compounds and they do not have a significant impact on the biological parameters such as cyto- and genotoxicity. Perhaps it is connected with the reaction environment including polarity of the solvent (water).Graphical abstract

Photon and neutron shielding characteristics of samarium doped lead alumino borate glasses containing barium, lithium and zinc oxides determined at medical diagnostic energies
Publication date: March 2019Source: Results in Physics, Volume 12Author(s): M. Almatari, O. Agar, E.E. Altunsoy, O. Kilicoglu, M.I. Sayyed, H.O. TekinAbstractIn the present work, we studied the radiation shielding parameters such as mass attenuation coefficients, effective atomic number, half value layer, mean free path, macroscopic effective removal cross-sections and neutron transmission function for samarium doped lead alumino borate glasses containing barium, lithium and zinc oxides at medical diagnostic energies (between 20 and 150 keV) using MCNPX code. The results showed that the photon attenuation depends on the ...
