Controlled delivery of ciprofloxacin and ivacaftor via sinus stent in a preclinical model of Pseudomonas sinusitis
ConclusionThe CISS had robust clinical efficacy in treatingP aeruginosa rabbit sinusitis. The innovative design of double ‐layered drug coating on the surface of the biodegradable stent may provide therapeutic advantages over current treatment strategies forP aeruginosa sinusitis.

In ‐vitro evaluation of a ciprofloxacin and azithromycin sinus stent for Pseudomonas aeruginosa biofilms
ConclusionThe CASS maintains a uniform coating and sustained delivery of ciprofloxacin and azithromycin, providing anti ‐biofilm activities againstP aeruginosa. Further studies evaluating the efficacy of CASS in a preclinical model are planned.

In ‐vitro evaluation of a ciprofloxacin‐ and ivacaftor‐coated sinus stent against Pseudomonas aeruginosa biofilms
ConclusionThe CISS maintains a uniform coating and sustained delivery of drugs providing a marked reduction inP aeruginosa biofilm formation. Further studies evaluating the efficacy of CISS in a preclinical model are planned.

Ivacaftor, a Cystic Fibrosis Transmembrane Conductance Regulator Potentiator, Enhances Ciprofloxacin Activity Against Pseudomonas aeruginosa.
CONCLUSION: Ivacaftor enhanced ciprofloxacin's antimicrobial activity against P. aeruginosa. Further studies evaluating the efficacy of ivacaftor/ciprofloxacin combination for P. aeruginosa for CF CRS are warranted. PMID: 30585080 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

Preventing Medication Errors: Lessons From a Patient
A Nurse Aide, an Emergency Room Clerk, and a Patient I have great appreciation for doctors and nurses, hospitals, and patients. In high school I worked as a nurse aide in a convalescent home. I fed, dressed, and showered elderly patients, many of them immobile. I shaved gentlemen's facial stubble and polished ladies' fingernails. In college and in graduate school, I worked as an emergency room clerk. I witnessed a lot, including amazing doctors and nurses caring for patients and saving lives. I have also been a patient.
