The colors of adipose tissue and the relationship with irisin.
s-Pantoja R Abstract Excess adipose tissue is considered one of the main causes of metabolic and cardiovascular diseases. Initially, the adipose tissue was considered the main lipid and energy storage of the organism. Subsequently it was discovered that adipose tissue had other functions such as endocrine, controlling different metabolic and immune processes. Currently, different types of adipose tissue are recognized. The white adipocyte represents the main energy reserve, on the contrary the brown adipocyte is responsible for the oxidation of lipids for thermogenesis. The beige adipocyte originates from the whit...

Diagnostic and therapeutic challenge in intracerebral hemorrhage due to aneurysm of distal lenticulostriate artery.
We present an atypical case of deep intracerebral hemorrhage caused by the rupture of an aneurysm of the distal lenticulostriate artery. A 42-year-old woman presenting with right-sided mild hemiparesis was diagnosed with an acute left-sided hemorrhage within the basal nuclei. Cerebral angiography revealed a microaneurysm of the distal portion of the left lenticulostriate artery. Conservative treatment under close neurological surveillance was recommended. After a few days of hospital stay, the patient's neurological symptoms improved, and she was discharged. The patient has remained asymptomatic for more than 6 months. Ane...

Implant of mesenchymal cells decreases acute cellular rejection in small bowel transplantation.
Conclusions: The local implantation of AD-MSC in the anastomosis and the intestinal lumen can induce a regulatory immune response, by increasing the percentages of Treg cells and TGb-1 levels, leading to a lower risk of acute rejection by cell mediation, in the first 7 days of the intestinal transplant. We think that the implantation of AD-MSCs, in the anastomoses and in the lumen of the donor intestine, could give rise to a chimera of donor-recipient cells. Merkel cell carcinoma: Clinical and anatomopathological features, management and survival in our centre.
Conclusions: MCC is a rare and aggressive disease which presents as a fast-growing solitary asymptomatic erythematous nodule in those areas of skin which are exposed to sunlight in elderly patients. The main risk factors include radiative ultraviolet, immunosuppression and merkel cell polyomavirus. Surgery is the main loco-regional treatment. Lymph node metastases in the course of the disease is one of the main prognostic factors. If there are no adenopaties, sentinel lymph node biopsy must be done; if there are adenopaties or a positive biopsy, lymphadenectomy is indicated. Radiotherapy is indicated in all stages of disea...
