Individual recovery expectations and prognosis of outcomes in non-specific low back pain: prognostic factor review.
CONCLUSIONS: We found that individual recovery expectations are probably strongly associated with future work participation (moderate-quality evidence) and may be associated with clinically important recovery outcomes (low-quality evidence). The association of recovery expectations with other outcomes of interest is less certain. Our findings suggest that recovery expectations should be considered in future studies, to improve prognosis and management of low back pain. PMID: 31765487 [PubMed - in process]

The Effects of Exercise Dosage on Neck-Related Pain and Disability: A Systematic Review With Meta-analysis.
CONCLUSION: Exercise was beneficial for reducing pain and disability, regardless of exercise therapy dosage. Therefore, optimal exercise dosage recommendations remain unknown. We encourage clinicians to use exercise when managing mechanical neck pain. J Orthop Sports Phys Ther 2020;50(11):607-621. doi:10.2519/jospt.2020.9155. PMID: 33131392 [PubMed - in process]

Leprosy in a prison population: A new active search strategy and a prospective clinical analysis
This study evaluates an active search strategy for leprosy diagnosis based on responses to a Leprosy Suspicion Questionnaire (LSQ), and analyzing the clinical, immunoepidemiological and follow-up aspects for individuals living in a prison population. MethodsA cross-sectional study based on a questionnaire posing 14 questions about leprosy symptoms and signs that was distributed to 1,400 prisoners. This was followed by dermatoneurological examination, anti-PGL-I serology and RLEP-PCR. Those without leprosy were placed in the Non-leprosy Group (NLG, n = 1,216) and those diagnosed with clinical symptoms of leprosy were placed...

Rehabilitation interventions to modify endocrine-metabolic disease risk in individuals with chronic spinal cord injury living in the community (RIISC): A systematic search and review of prospective cohort and case-control studies.
Conclusion: Longitudinal multicentre pragmatic studies involving longer-term exercise and dietary intervention and follow-up periods are needed to fully understand the impact of these rehabilitation approaches to mitigate EMD risk. Our broad evaluation of prospective cohort and case-control studies provides new perspectives on alternative study designs, a multi-impairment paradigm approach of studying EMD outcomes, and knowledge gaps related to SCI rehabilitation. From late fatherhood to prenatal screening of monogenic disorders: evidence and ethical concerns
AbstractBACKGROUNDWith the help of ART, an advanced parental age is not considered to be a serious obstacle for reproduction anymore. However, significant health risks for future offspring hide behind the success of reproductive medicine for the treatment of reduced fertility associated with late parenthood. Although an advanced maternal age is a well-known risk factor for poor reproductive outcomes, understanding the impact of an advanced paternal age on offspring is yet to be elucidated.De novo monogenic disorders (MDs) are highly associated with late fatherhood. MDs are one of the major sources of paediatric morbidity a...
