Right-side propensity of cardiogenic emboli in acute ischemic stroke with atrial fibrillation.
CONCLUSION: This study demonstrated the existence of a right-side propensity of cardiogenic emboli and the larger infarct volume of right-side MCA/ACA stroke in patients with AF. These results can be attributed to anatomical differences between the innominate and the left common carotid artery.

Successful thrombolytic therapy with recombinant tissue plasminogen activator in ischemic stroke after idarucizumab administration for reversal of dabigatran: a case report
ConclusionsIntravenous thrombolytic therapy with recombinant tissue plasminogen activator after reversal of dabigatran with idarucizumab may be safe and feasible in patients with acute ischemic stroke with lacunar infarct. Furthermore, intravenous thrombolytic therapy with recombinant tissue plasminogen activator could be used in patients in emergency settings until just before the end of the recommended time limit within which it needs to be administered because of the immediate effect of idarucizumab.

Evaluation of left ventricular function in patients with acute ischaemic stroke using cine cardiovascular magnetic resonance imaging
ConclusionsCardiovascular MRI at 3 Tesla is an appropriate method for the evaluation of cardiac function in a selected cohort of patients with AIS. Systolic and diastolic dysfunction is frequent in these patients. CRT imaging allows reliable assessment of systolic and diastolic function.

HSV-Encephalitis Resembling Acute Cerebral Infarction in a Patient With Atrial Fibrillation: Beware of Stroke Mimics
Conclusion:
HSV-encephalitis might occasionally result in the development of unilateral brain MRI lesions with extensive cytotoxic edema, resembling an acute ischemic stroke. Therefore, HSV-encephalitis must be considered in the differential diagnosis of acute ischemic stroke with atypical presentation. The presence of a significant dissociation between the brain MRI lesion volume and the neurological deficits, as well as certain brain MRI imaging discrepancies might serve as “red flags” to extend the diagnostic workup.

Antiphospholipid Syndrome Diagnosed as a Result of the Occurrence of an Ischemic Stroke After a Successful Catheter Ablation of Atrial Fibrillation and Continuous Direct Oral Anticoagulants
We report a case of an ischemic stroke after a successful catheter ablation of atrial fibrillation (AF) and continuous oral anticoagulation therapy with direct oral anticoagulants (DOACs), which was the trigger for diagnosing antiphospholipid syndrome (APS). A 68-year-old woman underwent catheter ablation of persistent AF and continued oral anticoagulation with edoxaban at a dose of 30 mg once daily after the ablation procedure. An asymptomatic intracerebral hemorrhage was detected by brain computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging one month post-ablation.
