Kidney function stratified outcomes of percutaneous left atrial appendage occlusion in patients with atrial fibrillation and high bleeding risk.
CONCLUSIONS: Left atrial appendage occlusion shows comparable efficacy for stroke and bleeding prevention in CKD and Non-CKD patients. CKD patients experience more adverse events during follow-up and a significantly increased risk for periprocedural contrast-induced acute kidney injury. Predictors of Gastrointestinal Bleeding Among Patients with Atrial Fibrillation After Initiating Dabigatran Therapy
ConclusionThe risk of GI bleeding in patients receiving dabigatran is highly associated with increased age and cardiovascular, renal, and other comorbidities, even after adjusting for other factors. Fewer than 50% of patients restarted an anticoagulant after experiencing a GI bleed. Clinicians should continue to monitor for these risk factors or consider whether alternative therapies may be appropriate.

Delayed hypersensitivity to new oral anticoagulants. Demonstration of cross reactivity for the drug category and definition of non-irritant concentrations for patch tests.
We reported a case of delayed skin reaction to edoxaban and we found the non-irritant concentration for patch test in the whole category of drugs. The patch test resulted positive for edoxaban. Po-01-083 percutaneous closure of peri-device leak following left atrial appendage closure using an amplatzer duct occluder
Percutaneous left atrial appendage (LAA) closure has been recognised as an alternative therapy for stroke prevention in selected patients with non-valvular atrial fibrillation (AF) who have difficulties with long-term oral anticoagulation. Peri-device leaks (PDLs) are frequently diagnosed after LAA closure procedures, regardless of closure methods. PDL> 5mm is related with further embolic events. Nevertheless, management of severe PDL has been a challenging concern which requires multiple teams involved.
