Concomitant anaortic OPCAB and transfemoral TAVR for high ‐risk patients: A case series
ConclusionsCombined anaortic OPCAB and transfemoral TAVR is a safe and feasible approach to treating concomitant extensive coronary artery disease and severe aortic stenosis. The aortic no-touch technique provides benefits in the elderly high-risk patients by reducing the risk of postoperative myocardial infarction and cerebrovascular stroke.

Immediate and late outcomes of transcatheter aortic valve implantation versus surgical aortic valve replacement in bicuspid valves: Meta ‐analysis of reconstructed time‐to‐event data
ConclusionConsidering the immediate outcomes and comparable overall survival observed in risk-adjusted populations, TAVI can be used safely in selected BAV patients. However, a time-varying risk is present (favoring SAVR over TAVI at a later timepoint). This finding was likely driven by higher rates of PPI with TAVI.

Acute kidney injury as the most important predictor of poor prognosis after interventional treatment for aortic stenosis
CONCLUSIONS: Our study revealed that AKI is the strongest predictor of major adverse cardiovascular events after both methods of aortic valve replacement (SAVR/TAVI).PMID:35924995 | DOI:10.33963/KP.a2022.0182

E-223 Atypical delayed mechanical thrombectomy for calcified cardiac emboli
ConclusionMechanical thrombectomy for intermittent stroke symptoms due to CCE was successfully achieved using an Embotrap device despite several days of relapsing-remitting symptoms with full neurologic recovery. Regardless of prior reports showing a low success rate, with the advent and availability of advanced thrombectomy devices, tailored endovascular treatment for patients with CCE to the brain should be strongly considered.Disclosures A. Hemodynamic changes during aortic valve surgery among patients with aortic stenosis
Conclusion. In patients with AS, CI can be increased with both dobutamine and fluid during surgery. Dobutamine's effect on SVI was highly variable and associated with baseline LVEF, and an increase in CI was mostly driven by an increase in heart rate. Fluid increased SVi at the cost of an increase in PCWP.PMID:35848519 | DOI:10.1080/14017431.2022.2099008

The impact of bicuspid aortic valve morphology on von Willebrand factor function in patients with severe aortic stenosis and its change after TAVI
ConclusionsBAV morphology is a strong predictor for AVWS in severe AS. TAVI restores vWF function in most patients with severe AS independently of AS phenotype and valve morphology.Graphical abstract

Safety and efficacy of transcatheter aortic valve implantation in stenotic bicuspid aortic valve compared to tricuspid aortic valve: a systematic review and meta-analysis
CONCLUSION: The use of TAVI for the treatment of aortic stenosis in selective BAV appears to be safe and effective.PMID:35770517 | DOI:10.1080/14779072.2022.2094368

Transcatheter aortic valve replacement in aortic stenosis and cardiac amyloidosis: a systematic review and meta ‐analysis
ConclusionsTAVR is an effective and safe procedure in CA-AS patients, with a substantial survival benefit as compared with medical therapy, and a safety profile comparable with patients with AS alone except for a trend towards higher risk of permanent pacemaker implantation.

Cystatin C in risk prediction after transcatheter aortic valve replacement: a retrospective analysis
ConclusionsThe CKDCys classification could better assess the risk than the CKDCr classification in patients undergoing TAVR. CKDCys stage 3b and stage 4  + 5 correlated with adverse outcomes.
