Association of dissection features and primary collateral circulation with ischemic stroke in patients with spontaneous internal carotid artery dissection: Evaluated using vessel Wall-MRI and MRA
CONCLUSIONS: Both the poor primary collateral circulation and severe stenosis may play important role in occurrence of ischemic stroke for spontaneous ICAD patients and good primary collateral circulation can help to reduce the incidence of infarction.ADVANCES IN KNOWLEDGE: ICAD is one of the major causes of ischemic stroke. New therapeutic strategies under development aim to improve recanalization rates and clinical outcomes after ischemic stroke. One such approach is ultrasound (US)-enhanced thrombolysis, or sonothrombolysis, which can improve thrombolytic drug actions and even intrinsic fibrinolysis. Timing of recanalization and outcome in ischemic-stroke patients treated with recombinant tissue plasminogen activator.

Comparison of susceptibility-weighted and perfusion-weighted magnetic resonance imaging in the detection of penumbra in acute ischemic stroke
Conclusions DWI-SWI mismatch is a good marker for evaluating ischemic penumbra in stroke patients with cerebral infarction. SWI can detect thrombus in the affected vessels, and may be useful for guiding intra-arterial thrombolytic therapy.

Intentional subintimal carotid stenting of internal carotid dissection in a patient with acute ischaemic stroke.
We report the case of a young woman with severe acute ischaemic stroke due to carotid artery dissection and intracranial embolism. After failure of endoluminal crossing of the dissected segment, intentional subintimal crossing with re-entry distally to the dissection was achieved and a stent was deployed. Then, middle cerebral artery thrombectomy was performed achieving good recanalisation. Endovascular Thrombectomy of Calcified Emboli in Acute Ischemic Stroke: A Multicenter Study.
CONCLUSIONS: Acute ischemic stroke with large-vessel occlusion due to calcified emboli is a rare entity in patients undergoing thrombectomy, with considerably worse angiographic outcome and a higher mortality compared with patients with noncalcified thrombi. Postprocedural Antiplatelet Treatment after Emergent Carotid Stenting in Tandem Lesions Stroke: Impact on Stent Patency beyond Day 1 INTERVENTIONAL
CONCLUSIONS: Discontinuation of dual-antiplatelet therapy was not associated with an increased risk of stent thrombosis beyond postprocedural day 1. Further studies are warranted to better assess the additional benefit and optimal duration of dual-antiplatelet therapy after tandem lesion stroke thrombectomy.
