CONCLUSIONS: Existing clinical research evidence shows that ANP has good efficacy and safety in the treatment of acute stroke, which can provide a basis for the treatment of integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine. However, the quality of included research methodology needs to be improved, and the above conclusions need to be verified by more high-quality studies.PMID:37454249 | PMC:PMC10320440 | DOI:10.19852/j.cnki.jtcm.20230526.002

Scalp acupuncture for stroke recovery: A systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials
Abstract: Aim: Scalp acupuncture (SA) for stroke recovery has been widely used in many Asian countries. We conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis to assess the evidence of SA for use in integrated stroke management. Methods: Systematic searches of 16 electronic databases were conducted for articles published through June 2012. All randomized controlled trials that compared SA as a sole or adjunct treatment with any relevant controls for stroke were included. Methodological quality was assessed using the Cochrane risk of bias tool. Results: In total, 21 studies were included. Fourteen of these studies dealt with acut...

Therapeutic Angiogenesis after Ischemic Stroke: Chinese Medicines, Bone Marrow Stromal Cells (BMSCs) and their Combinational Treatment.
Abstract Ischemic stroke is a clinical acute disease which causes neurological dysfunction and threatens a patient's life. Because the mechanism of pathology is complicated and most patients miss the best therapeutic window time, the effect of the treatment is not satisfied at present. Numerous studies indicated new vessels not only recuperated blood flow in the ischemic boundary zone, but also facilitated endogenous neurogenesis and improved neurological function after ischemic stroke. Therefore, angiogenesis has been an important research field in neurovascular regeneration. Recently, some Chinese medicines, bon...

Effectiveness and safety of Wuling capsule for post stroke depression: A systematic review.
CONCLUSION: Wuling capsule appeared to present certain antidepressant effect compared to no treatment control. With a combination of several Western medicines, Wuling capsule could be helpful in strengthening efficacy and reducing the incidence of adverse events as an alternative choice in the treatment of PSD. However, due to the limited number of included trials and relatively moderate methodological quality in the majority of studies, further large scale and rigorously designed trials are warranted to confirm the effectiveness and safety of Wuling capsule for post stroke depression. A pilot controlled trial of a combination of dense cranial electroacupuncture stimulation and body acupuncture for post-stroke depression
Conclusions: These results indicate that DCEAS could be effective in reducing stroke patients' depressive symptoms. Superficial electrical stimulation in n-CEA group may be beneficial in improving movement disability of stroke patients. A combination of DCEAS and body acupuncture can be considered a treatment option for neuropsychiatric sequelae of stroke.Trial registration: www.clinicaltrials.gov, NCT01174394.

Extraction of Clinical Indicators That Are Associated with the Heat/Nonheat and Excess/Deficiency Patterns in Pattern Identifications for Stroke.
Authors: Lee JA, Ko MM, Lee J, Kang BK, Alraek T, Birch S, Lee MS Abstract The aim of this study is to extract indicators that are associated with the heat/nonheat and excess/deficiency patterns in stroke pattern identification through the large-scale analysis of clinical data. Two experts, who had more than three years of clinical experience with stroke, independently performed the pattern identification. We analyzed indicators of clinical data with two doctors' concurrent diagnoses on the patient's pattern identification. To verify heat/nonheat and excess/deficiency patterns, which are the basic elements of patte...
