Could gender impact on immediate and long-term carotid artery stenting outcome? insight from an italian single center experience
Carotid artery stenting (CAS) has become a valid alternative to carotid endarterectomy in stroke prevention. Direct oral anticoagulants and therapeutic adherence: do not let your guard down
CONCLUSIONS: Polypharmacy, patient's isolation, such as a low education level were statistically associated with a low therapeutic adherence. Therapeutic adherence remains an unsolved problem for anticoagulated patient. To identify patients at higher risk of poor compliance and therapeutic failure and establish targeted care pathways is a priority.PMID:33896375 | DOI:10.1080/00015385.2021.1908702

Effect of anticoagulant therapy in COVID-19 patients
CONCLUSION: Analysis of the literature showed that there was insufficient evidence to answer our objective on the effect of anticoagulation on outcome in COVID-19 patients, especially due to the low scientific quality of the described studies. Randomised controlled studies are needed to answer this question.PMID:33861430 | DOI:10.1007/s12471-021-01574-7

Neonatal outcomes and risk of neonatal sepsis in an expectantly managed cohort of late preterm prelabor rupture of membranes
CONCLUSION: Expectant management of LpPROM should be encouraged especially between 34+0 and 34+6 weeks', when the burden of prematurity is the greatest. Antibiotics may have beneficial effects, while careful consideration should be given to antenatal corticosteroids until future studies specifically address LpPROM.PMID:33857797 | DOI:10.1016/j.ejogrb.2021.03.036
