Procedures of brain death diagnosis and organ explantation in a tertiary medical centre - a retrospective eight-year cohort study
CONCLUSIONS: Ancillary tests to confirm brain death are frequently performed, mainly in resuscitated patients. Medical and Economical Effects by Introducing Helicopter Emergency Medical Service (HEMS) in Toyama Prefecture, Japan
ConclusionBased on this study, HEMS of Toyama showed effective medical and economical effects. HEMS staff recognize that early treatments and rapid transports improve patient's outcome. In case of Toyama, HEMS staff effort to contact patients rapidly, and start critical treatments as soon as possible after arrival on scene, and to minimum the staying time. Moreover, all hospitals in Toyama receive patients for treating optimal care immediately along with patient's conditions. Those efforts could lead to the result.

The basic social medical insurance is associated with clinical outcomes in the patients with ST-elevation myocardial infarction: a retrospective study from Shanghai, China.

Cook Medical recalls select single lumen caths
Cook Medical is recalling 360 lots of its single lumen central venous catheters, pressure monitoring sets and trays due to issues with catheter tip fracture and separation. A total of 17,872 devices are subject to the recall, according to Cook, who said it began notifying customers and distributors of the issue in January and that it has contacted the FDA and other regulatory bodies over the issue.
