Stroke: A retrospective review of the incidence and epidemiology in a South African academic hospital emergency department
CONCLUSIONS: Stroke is an important healthcare concern for SA. Our study demonstrated a lower mean age of patients presenting with stroke compared with high- and upper middle-income countries, and a higher proportion of haemorrhagic strokes. Several modifiable risk factors such as hypertension and diabetes were identified. Recurrent migraine with binocular transient vision loss associated with acute stroke: A case report

Afternoon Tea Hemichorea
A 78-year-old woman, with a medical history of hypertension, presented to the Accident & Emergency Department after a sudden onset of right-sided involuntary movements while she was having afternoon tea with her friends. Examination showed isolated unilateral chorea, affecting the right arm and leg (Video 1). Her blood glucose and sodium levels were normal. The Clinical Efficacy of Clopidogrel Bisulfate Tablets Combined with Olmesartan Medoxomil for Ischemic Stroke with Hypertension and the Effect of Angiotensin II Type 1 Receptor Level on Prognosis
CONCLUSION: Clopidogrel bisulfate tablets combined with olmesartan medoxomil has prominent clinical effects in the treatment of ischemic stroke patients with hypertension, evidently improving the prognosis. Cerebral Microbleed Burden in Ischemic Stroke Patients on Aspirin: Prospective Cohort of Intracranial Hemorrhage
Conclusion: Age and hypertension are independently associated with the presence of CMBs. Intracranial hemorrhage incidence rate was increased with the number of CMBs, and the number of CMBs ≥10 were independent predictors of ICH in acute stroke patients.

Neurophysiological Examinations as Adjunctive Tool to Imaging Techniques in Spontaneous Intracerebral Hemorrhage: IRONHEART Study
Conclusion: Together with the clinical symptoms, the volume of bleeding, perihematomal edema (or their combined volume), and neurophysiological examinations like EEG and TMS play an important role in the neurological outcome of patients with ICH. This might affect the patients' rehabilitation plans in the future, since with the help of the examinations the subset of patients with potential for recovery could be identified.
