Therapeutic Role of Additional Mirror Therapy on the Recovery of Upper Extremity Motor Function after Stroke: A Single-Blind, Randomized Controlled Trial
CONCLUSION: In conclusion, some positive changes in aspects of upper limb motor function and the ability to perform instrumental activities of daily living compared with routine occupational therapy were observed in additional mirror therapy. The effect of robot-assisted walking in different modalities on cardiorespiratory responses and energy consumption in patients with subacute stroke
DISCUSSION: By decreasing GF and BWS values during robot-assisted walking, adequate cardio-metabolic and energy response in both subacute stroke patients and healthy individuals could be achieved. Does outcome of neuropsychological treatment in patients with unilateral spatial neglect after stroke affect functional outcome?
CONCLUSIONS: The outcome of the whole rehabilitation resulted affected by the outcome of neuropsychological treatment in patients with USN, being a low score at Barrage test at the beginning of therapy a negative predictor of USN recovery. CLINICAL REHABILITATION IMPACT: Patients with USN after stroke can benefit of a specific training for reducing USN also in terms of functional outcome. ConclusionsSimulation training of the acute stroke treatment team was associated with an increase in the proportion of patients treated with IVT for a suspected AIS who were later diagnosed with peripheral vertigo. Ischemic Stroke Related to Severe Iron-Deficiency Anemia in Adults May Benefit from Blood Transfusion (P01.232)
CONCLUSIONS: Prevalence of IDA is 1-20%; it is 3.9% in our AIS population and is often related to untreated uterine bleeding. As described in the pediatric population, severe IDA may be an underlying mechanism of ischemic stroke in adults, therefore, efforts must be undertaken to identify and treat the cause of the anemia.
