Correlation Between Intracranial Arterial Calcification and Imaging of Cerebral Small Vessel Disease
Conclusion: Intracranial artery calcification is common in patients with ischemic cerebrovascular disease and the intracranial carotid artery is most frequently affected. Intracranial arterial calcifications might be associated with imaging markers of SVD and are highly correlated with WMHs, lacunes, and CMBs. Stenosis Length and Degree Interact With the Risk of Cerebrovascular Events Related to Internal Carotid Artery Stenosis
Conclusion: We found a statistically insignificant tendency for the ultrasound-measured length of sICAS<70% to be longer than that of sICAS≥70%. Moreover, the ultrasound-measured length of sICAS<90% was significantly longer than that of sICAS 90%. Among patients with sICAS≥70%, the degree and length of stenosis were inversely correlated. Rupture of vertebral artery dissection aneurysm during 3D DSA
A 60-year-old man with a history of headache and vomiting had a subarachnoid hemorrhage on CT scan. On 2-dimensional (2D) digital subtraction angiography (DSA), a possible dissection aneurysm of the vertebral artery was seen (video 1 on the Neurology® Web site at Neurology.org). During 3D DSA, the aneurysm suddenly ruptured (video 2), with intracranial hemorrhage. The pressure of contrast was 200 psi, the rate was 2 mL/s, with a total volume of 12 mL. The Impact of Comprehensive Stroke Care Capacity on the Hospital Volume of Stroke Interventions: A Nationwide Study in Japan: J-ASPECT Study
We examined the effect of hospital characteristics, having a t-PA protocol, and the number of fulfilled CSC items (total CSC score) on the hospital volume of t-PA infusion, removal of intracerebral hemorrhage, and coiling and clipping of intracranial aneurysms performed inĀ 2009.Results: Approximately 55% of hospitals responded to the survey.
