Machine learning prediction of symptomatic intracerebral hemorrhage after stroke thrombolysis: a cross-cultural validation in Caucasian and Han Chinese cohort
CONCLUSION: The established SVM model is feasible for predicting the risk of sICH after thrombolysis quickly and efficiently in both Caucasian and Han Chinese cohort.PMID:36225969 | PMC:PMC9549180 | DOI:10.1177/17562864221129380

Metric-Based Simulation Training to Proficiency for Endovascular Thrombectomy in Ischemic Stroke
Ischemic stroke is one of the leading causes of death and long-term disability in the West. Mechanical revascularization techniques are considered the standard of care for large vessel occlusive stroke. Traditional apprenticeship models involve doctors training their skills on patients. Simulation platforms have long been recognized as an alternative to this. There has however been very little robust assessment of the training outcomes achieved on some of these platforms. At best, these simulations increase understanding of the procedural process and may help improve some technical skills; at worst they may instill bad hab...

Systemic immune inflammatory index is an independent predictor for the requirement of decompressive craniectomy in large artery occlusion acute ischemic stroke patients after mechanical thrombectomy
ConclusionsThe SII at admission is an independent predictor for the requirement of DC in patients with LAO-AIS after MT. The SII-based nomogram helps doctors make decisions on whether DC is needed timely and rationally, and thereby may improve the prognosis of these patients.

Platelet-to-lymphocyte ratio at 24h after thrombolysis is a prognostic marker in acute ischemic stroke patients
ConclusionsWe found the PLR to be a variable that potentially predicts the risks of poor outcome and death in patients with acute ischemic stroke 24 h after rtPA; however, it cannot make the same prediction on admission.

Functional outcome prediction of ischemic stroke patients with atrial fibrillation accepting post-acute care training
ConclusionIn the current study, nearly half of the enrolled patients showed favorable functional recovery. The outcome assessments seem to correlate well with NIHSS and Barthel Index scores, rather than mRS. The anxiety/depression and usual activities domains of the EQ-5D results are associated with and have a great impact after the patients undertake the PAC rehabilitative strategy. Moreover, the variables obtained through carotid duplex and plaque index might also play a significant role in determining the patient's functional outcome.

Dynamic nomogram for predicting acute kidney injury in patients with acute ischemic stroke: A retrospective study
ConclusionIn summary, we explored the incidence of AKI in patients with AIS during ICU stay and developed a predictive model to help clinical decision-making.

A novel nomogram to predict hemorrhagic transformation in ischemic stroke patients after intravenous thrombolysis
ConclusionThis study proposes a novel and practical nomogram based on early infarct signs, NIHSS scores, uric acid, and albumin-to-globulin ratio that can well predict the probability of HT after intravenous thrombolysis in patients with ischemic stroke.

Clot-based radiomics model for cardioembolic stroke prediction with CT imaging before recanalization: a multicenter study
ConclusionThe proposed CT-based radiomics model could reliably predict CE stroke in AIS, performing better than the routine radiological method.Key Points• Admission CT imaging could offer valuable information to identify the acute ischemic stroke source by radiomics analysis.• The proposed CT imaging–based radiomics model yielded a higher area under the curve (0.838) than the routine radiological method (0.713; p = 0.007).• Several radiomic features showed significantly stronger correlations with two main thrombus constituents (red blood cells, |rmax|, 0.74; fibrin and platelet, |rmax|, 0.68) than routine radiolog...

Using Multiple Logistic Regression to Determine Factors Affecting Delaying Hospital Arrival of Patients with Acute Ischemic Stroke
Conclusions: Results showed that most of the patients had a considerable delay in arriving at the hospital in ≤ 4.5 hours. Thus, providing health promotion strategies to improve society awareness of early symptoms of stroke, training of local physicians about the importance of early arrival of stroke patients, and more extended ambulance services in all cities and rural areas are necessary for better management of acute stroke patients in this area.

O16 Mechanical thrombectomy practices in Europe: results from an international survey from the ESMINT society
ConclusionsThis European survey emphasizes the variety of practices regarding thrombectomy at the level of countries, centers and across practitioners. Even if most centers remain understaffed to ensure actual and future needs for MT, most of TCSC are actively training young INR.ReferencesGoyal, Mayank et al. P74 Keep it simple: MAC (Manual Aspiration with Contrast) technique for the endovascular management of acute ischemic stroke (LVO & MVO)
We report a prospectively collected clinical experience with a simple technique: MAC (Manual Aspiration Contrast Enhancement) as the primary method for vessel recanalization.Gently contrast injection while the aspiration catheter is advancedto the thrombus and subsequentlycreating a closed-loop system with the contrast column within the cathetercan result in better visualization during the aspiration, thus improving the FPEavoiding clot fragmentation, multiple passes and blind movements of catheter by a single operator.Methods47 prospectively patients with ELVO and 3 cases of middle vessel occlusion (MVO) at four instituti...

P81 Novel synthetic clot analogs for in-vitro stroke modelling
ConclusionSelected synthetic clots can successfully be implemented in an in-vitro training environment of mechanical thrombectomy. Implementation of a telemedicine, stroke evaluation service; a qualitative study
CONCLUSIONS: The service was perceived as valuable to the local community, providing a sense of healthcare security and equitability. Management's involvement, flexibility, and coordination appears to be a key factor for successful implementation and long-term sustainability of the service.PMID:35964091 | DOI:10.1186/s12913-022-08428-x
