Relationship between seminal vesicle displacement and distribution of hydrogel spacer within the perirectal space in prostate radiotherapy
In conclusion, SV cranial displacement was influenced by HS lateral distribution of ≥1.00 cm in the upper two slices. Therefore, when the sigmoid colon or small bowel is depressed in rectovesical excavation and SV needs to be included in the target volume, HS insertion should be performed carefully.PMID:37719041 | PMC:PMC10502802 | DOI:10.3892/mco.2023.2674

Associations Between Social Determinants of Health and Psychoneurologic Symptom Clusters in Women With Gynecologic Cancers: A Longitudinal Study
Oncol Nurs Forum. 2023 Feb 17;50(2):241-251. doi: 10.1188/23.ONF.241-251.ABSTRACTOBJECTIVES: To evaluate the associations between social determinants of health (SDOH) and psychoneurologic symptom (PNS) clusters in women with gynecologic cancers during cancer treatment.SAMPLE & SETTING: 67 women with gynecologic cancers who received radiation therapy were assessed at baseline, six to eight weeks after treatment, and six months after treatment at oncology clinics in Georgia.METHODS & VARIABLES: Fatigue, pain, sleep disturbances, cognitive impairment, and depressive symptoms were measured to determine a PNS cluster sc...

Dose-dependent atrophy in bilateral amygdalae and nuclei after brain radiotherapy: Association with mood and memory outcomes on a longitudinal clinical trial
CONCLUSIONS: Bilateral amygdalae and nuclei undergo time- and dose-dependent atrophy after brain RT. Atrophy in amygdalae and specific nuclei was associated with poorer memory, mood, and emotional well-being. Amygdalae-sparing treatment planning may preserve neurocognitive and neuropsychiatric outcomes in this population.PMID:37230430 | DOI:10.1016/j.ijrobp.2023.05.026

Investigating the WNT/TCF pathway and the value of DCE-MRI in predicting and evaluating the efficacy of neoadjuvant radiotherapy and chemotherapy for locally advanced rectal cancer
In conclusion, ADC value and Ktrans value can reflect the tissue structure changes of READ after neoadjuvant chemotherapy. It can be seen that the change rate of ADC value and pre-nCRTKtrans value can predict the early efficacy of neoadjuvant radiotherapy and chemotherapy for READ. The results showed that Axin2 and β-catenin factors along with other factors such as APC and CKI proteins are effective at the molecular level along with other factors in the WNT/TCF signaling pathway. These agents start their activity in the cytoplasm and exert their final effect on the genes in the nucleus.PMID:37224039 | DOI:10.14715/cmb/2023.69.2.16

Decision Regret among Patients with Early-stage Lung Cancer Undergoing Radiation Therapy or Surgical Resection
CONCLUSIONS: Most early-stage lung cancer patients experienced at least mild decision regret, which was associated with SBRT treatment and depression symptoms. Findings suggest patients with early-stage lung cancer may not be receiving optimal treatment decision-making support. Therefore, opportunities for improved patient-clinician communication probably exist.PMID:37031075 | DOI:10.1016/j.clon.2023.03.015
