The State of Care for Persons With a Diagnosis of Depression-an Analysis Based on Routine Data From a German Statutory Health Insurance Carrier
CONCLUSION: Our findings point to existing deficiencies in the care of patients with depression, particularly in the establishment of the diagnosis and in the assessment of disease severity. Effectiveness of resilience interventions for higher education students: A meta-analysis and metaregression.
Our review explores the effectiveness of resilience interventions on improving resilience, reducing depressive symptoms, and overcoming stress symptoms among higher education students. We conducted a systematic search in 10 electronic English and Chinese language databases. Twenty-nine randomized, controlled trials (RCTs) met the inclusion criteria and were included in this review. Effect sizes from 25 RCTs were calculated for meta-analysis and metaregression. The results of a random effects model reveal that resilience interventions are effective in improving resilience with small effect size (g = .32, 95% CI [.15, .49]),...

How U.S. Medical Schools Are Training a Post-Pandemic Generation of Doctors
In February 2019, the Kaiser Permanente health system announced a new kind of medical school. Students would see patients right away, and hands-on learning would replace many lectures. What’s more, the first five graduating classes would pay nothing to attend; Kaiser hoped this would attract a student body more diverse than the typical U...

8 reasons patients don’t take their medications
Medication nonadherence—when patients don’t take their medications as prescribed—is unfortunately fairly common, especially among patients with chronic disease. Learn eight reasons why patients don’t take their medications and ways your team can help identify and improve patients’ adherence to their medications.
