Effect of the Early Application of Evolocumab on Blood Lipid Profile and Cardiovascular Prognosis in Patients with Extremely High-Risk Acute Coronary Syndrome
This study was a prospective, randomized controlled study. A total of 136 patients with extremely high-risk ACS with LDL-C ≥ 3.0 mmol/L after percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) treatment were randomly assigned 1:1 to the control group (atorvastatin 40 mg/day and ezetimibe 10 mg/day) or the evolocumab group (evolocumab 140 mg every 2 weeks combined with atorvastatin 40 mg/day and ezetimibe 10 mg/day). We compared the blood lipid profiles, major adverse cardiovascular events (MACEs), and adverse reactions. MACEs included cardiogenic death, nonfatal myocardial infarction, nonfatal stroke, and readmission due to angina...

Early Initiation of Evolocumab Treatment in Chinese Patients With Acute Coronary Syndrome Undergoing Percutaneous Coronary Intervention
This study aimed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of the early initiation of evolocumab in Chinese patients with ACS undergoing PCI.METHODS: This retrospective cohort study involved 1564 consecutive patients who had been hospitalized with ACS and underwent PCI, and who had elevated LDL-C levels (≥1.8 mmol/L after receiving high-intensity statin therapy for ≥4 weeks; ≥2.3 mmol/L after receiving low- or moderate-intensity statin; or ≥3.2 mmol/L without statin therapy). Patients who received evolocumab (initiated in-hospital and after 18 months) were included in the evolocumab group (n = 414), and all other patient...

Relationship between lipoprotein(a) and revascularization after percutaneous coronary intervention in type 2 diabetes mellitus patients with acute coronary syndrome
CONCLUSION: Lp(a) was an independent predictor of revascularization in patients with ACS complicated with T2DM, regardless of LDL-C levels. This suggests that Lp(a) measurement may help identify high-risk diabetic patients with ACS.PMID:35575139 | DOI:10.1080/03007995.2022.2078080

PCSK9 and Cardiovascular Disease in Individuals with Moderately Decreased Kidney Function
Conclusions: Our findings reveal no relation of PCSK9 with baseline eGFR and albuminuria, but a significant association between higher PCSK9 concentrations and risk of cardiovascular disease independent of traditional risk factors including LDL-cholesterol levels.PMID:35387881 | DOI:10.2215/CJN.01230122
