Atherosclerosis as a Risk Factor for IBD: A Population-Based Case-Control Study
CONCLUSIONS: A history of an atherosclerotic-related condition is associated with increased odds of developing IBD, particularly among older adults. Long-term risk of stroke and myocardial infarction in middle-aged men with a hypertensive response to exercise: a 44-year follow-up study
Conclusion: Among middle-aged men with high resting and maximum blood pressure during maximum exercise workload, an increased risk of stroke was observed but not for MI. Further studies with larger sample sizes are needed to investigate the underlying mechanisms of the increased risk of stroke among individuals with hypertensive response to exercise.

Low-density lipoprotein cholesterol reduction and statin intensity in myocardial infarction patients and major adverse outcomes: a Swedish nationwide cohort study
Conclusions  Larger early LDL-C reduction and more intensive statin therapy after MI were associated with a reduced hazard of all CV outcomes and all-cause mortality. This supports clinical trial data suggesting that earlier lowering of LDL-C after an MI confers the greatest benefit.

Relative Prognostic Importance and Optimal Levels of Risk Factors for Mortality and Cardiovascular Outcomes in Type 1 Diabetes.
CONCLUSIONS: Glycated hemoglobin, albuminuria, duration of diabetes, systolic blood pressure and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol appear the most important predictors for mortality and cardiovascular outcomes in patients with type 1 diabetes. Lower levels for glycated hemoglobin, systolic blood pressure and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol than contemporary guideline target levels appear to be associated with significantly lower risk for outcomes. Prediction of individual life-years gained without cardiovascular events from lipid, blood pressure, glucose, and aspirin treatment based on data of more than 500  000 patients with Type 2 diabetes mellitus
ConclusionCardiovascular disease-free life expectancy and effects of lifelong prevention in terms of CVD-free life-years gained can be estimated for people with T2DM using readily available clinical characteristics. Predictions of individual-level treatment effects facilitate translation of trial results to individual patients.
