The impact of the incidence of diabetic complications on mortality in colorectal cancer patients with diabetes: A nationwide study
CONCLUSION: The incidence of diabetes-related complications after cancer diagnosis was associated with an increased risk of all-cause five-year mortality in older patients with colorectal cancer and preexisting diabetes.PMID:37606760 | DOI:10.1007/s00384-023-04509-3

Temporal Trend of the Incidence and Characteristics of Renal Infarction: Korean Nationwide Population Study
CONCLUSION: Considering the progressively increasing incidence of RI and high prevalence of coexisting risk factors, constant efforts to raise awareness of the disease are necessary. The current epidemiologic investigation of RI would be the stepping-stone to establishing future studies about clinical outcomes and optimal treatment strategies.PMID:37550807 | PMC:PMC10412037 | DOI:10.3346/jkms.2023.38.e239

Gestational Glucose Intolerance and Birth Weight-Related Complications
CONCLUSION: Gestational glucose intolerance in pregnancy is associated with birth weight-related adverse pregnancy outcomes. Glucose lowering should be investigated as a strategy for lowering the risk of these outcomes in this group.PMID:37539973 | DOI:10.1097/AOG.0000000000005278

Association of blood pressure with cardio-renal events and mortality in Type 2 DM: a national health insurance database
CONCLUSIONS: In patients with T2DM, the optimal cutoff value of BP associated with a lower incidence of MACEs and mortality may be 120-129 mmHg for SBP and 75-79 mm Hg for DBP. However, lower SBP may be helpful for T2DM patients with a high risk of renal disease.PMID:37431631 | DOI:10.1210/clinem/dgad404

Lifetime risk, life expectancy, loss-of-life expectancy, and lifetime healthcare expenditure for Stevens-Johnson syndrome/toxic epidermal necrolysis in Taiwan: follow-up of a nationwide cohort from 2008 to 2019
CONCLUSIONS: Patients with SJS/TEN suffer substantial loss of LE and HE, particularly young patients, compared to the general population. These data provide a reference estimate of the lifetime burden of SJS/TEN to help health authorities evaluate the cost-effectiveness of future preventive and treatment strategies to minimize the burden of SJS/TEN.PMID:37427802 | DOI:10.1093/bjd/ljad234

Type 2 diabetes mellitus and periodontitis: Bi-directional association in population-based 15-year retrospective cohorts
CONCLUSIONS: We suggested the bi-direction is between T2DM and severe periodontitis, but not in mild type.PMID:37224522 | DOI:10.1210/clinem/dgad287
