Medical students' perception of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) discrimination in their learning environment and their self-reported comfort level for caring for LGBT patients: a survey study.

The Impact of simulation-based medical education on resident management of emergencies in pediatric anesthesiology.

How is transition to medical practice shaped by a novel transitional role? A mixed-methods study
Conclusions An explicitly transitional role can benefit doctors as they move from medical school to independent practice. We suggest that the features of supported autonomy are those of institutionalised liminality—a structured role ‘betwixt and between’ education and practice—and this lens may provide a guide to optimising the design of such posts.

The effectiveness of a new approach using movies in the training of medical students
Conclusions Informal feedback from participants was strongly positive. Preliminary results from the assessment of participants are encouraging. Students’ attitudes towards psychiatry and ability to tolerate anxiety when experiencing others’ distress improved, while stigma decreased. The evocative power of movie dynamic images, developed in the group and integrated with the help of the group leader, can enrich students’ knowledge, both from a cognitive and emotional standpoint.

Learning health 'safety' within non-technical skills interprofessional simulation education: a qualitative study.
CONCLUSIONS: This study highlights the role of intergroup contact anxiety and teamwork as factors in NTS behaviour and its dissipation through interprofessional simulation learning. Therefore, this should be a key consideration in NTS education. Future research is needed to consider the role of the affective non-technical attributes of intergroup contact anxiety and teamwork as focuses for education and determinants of safe behaviour. To the Editor Drs McCarthy and McEvoy discussed a great divide among medical students regarding whether pimping is viewed as an important educational activity or a means to humiliate and demean. High prevalence and risk factors of dropout intention among Chinese medical postgraduates
CONCLUSIONS: Mental distress is common among postgraduates, calling for timely interventions. Medical postgraduates reported higher turnover intention. Healthcare environment perception also affected the mental health and dropout intentions of medical students.
