Mortality and Morbidity Effects of Long-Term Exposure to Low-Level PM < sub > 2.5 < /sub > , BC, NO < sub > 2 < /sub > , and O < sub > 3 < /sub > : An Analysis of European Cohorts in the ELAPSE Project
CONCLUSIONS: Long-term exposure to PM2.5, NO2, and BC was positively associated with natural-cause and cause-specific mortality in the pooled cohort and the administrative cohorts. Associations were found well below current limit values and guidelines for PM2.5 and NO2. Associations tended to be supralinear, with steeper slopes at low exposures with no indication of a threshold. This study aimed to quantify health effects and associated economic values of reducing PM2.5 air pollution using BenMAP-CE in Qom in 2019. Abstract B84: Increasing disparities in breast cancer mortality for young black women in the U.S. from 1979-2010
Conclusions: Though mortality rates have declined over the past 30 years for women under 50, significant disparities in the two leading causes of death, cancer and CVD, remain. The persistence of disparities across diseases highlights the need to focus on improving health outcomes broadly, in addition to disease centered approaches, in order to prevent premature deaths among young women. Conclusion: Cancer was a frequent topic for disease-focused messages in African-American churches. In addition, three of the five most frequent disease topics matched the leading causes of death in the African-American community.
